It is, but it's still worth it. HL2 may have more overall mod potential, but BF2 is far superior in terms of huge battles and lack of a POS system like steam.

I got mine earlier today.

Jesus...the lag is horrible. My ping is 55, my settings all on low yet it plays like I'm running it off a comadore 64.

my isnt that bad but it still pisses me off. there really is no difference between Chinese and MEC, seems kind of silly. Overall the gameplay is fun and the mods will be fun.......i hope

Retail is definately tolerable, but not as amazing as I wished it'd be. I was sort of let down by the demo also. Hopefully we can get a server or a game going sometime. That'd be a lot of fun.

How often does the game update your stats?

What don't you like about it? From what ive seen the 64 player maps are worth the price alone. The only game ive installed at the minute is the demo. ed:

I noticed that. Even more so with every side having the same unlocked weapons. The Chinese didn't have much work put into them so they have similar equipment to the MEC. I guess that's why there are no CH vs MEC maps.

I guess I could've been more specific. happy: My main problem was with singleplayer/coop, but I'm enjoying multiplayer. Once and awhile I'll get 10 fps during a real crowded battle or on a map I cant handle too well, get a little frustrated with the small arms, but otherwise it has a lot of potential for fun sessions. Hopefully someone on gf1 with the resources to start their own server or whatever is thinking about it, it'd be worth it imo.

Whats your specs for running the game?

I was considering trying to run a server, have enough parts sitting around to make a 3ghz p4 server but my gay 32kbps upload would ruin it. annoy:

The chinese in the game, ive yet to play full version but if theyre carbon copies of the mec thats pretty lame. I thought it would give us a third unique faction to play with but even their attack helo is the same as the mec variation. I suppose like in bf1942 they will eventually add more units and maps and things so maybe they can be differentiated abit after a while.

I remember seeing the e3 vid from a year ago showing that dam map, was meant to have dump trucks you could drive and that sequence with the container having its cable shot and the container falling was meant to be in the full game, i dunno if either of these made it in.

You actually paid for a game...especially one by EA? Man, i've been away from IRC for a couple days...but I didn't expect this...

I'll probably pick my copy up tomorrow or whenever I have some time.

Yeah, crazy eh?

I felt it preferable to putting up with the BS I did with bf1942 ever since PFC Green's cd key was invalidated somehow.

LOL

I remember not being able to play in any real servers with bf42. Good times.
