Duffy its a community college, yes, but see, I only need my Associates degree, and I also get my Network Specialist certificate (two birds with one stone).

Why spend 4 grand a semester when I can spend 900$ a semester and get the same degree?[/quote:a3c12]

'Cause employers won't value it as highly

I really much doubt that...but I can always transfer my credits from the community college to a 4 year university and get a bachelors in Computer Science.

Think about it:

Year 1: 900$
Year 2: 900$
Year 3: 4000$
Year 4: 4000$

sure beats all 4 years at 4000$

Yeah, that's probably a better idea. But seriously, employers look more highly on 4 year colleges because they are often times more respectable and therefore the degrees are more highly valued. If that wasn't true, then people wouldn't go to 4 year colleges.

Yeah I understand...my plans right now are to get the A.A.S, then get Network Security certification, and for an extra semester I can get 2 more certifications (2 CISCO and 1 Microsoft), so 1 degree + 4 certifications should be as good as a 4 year degree, no?
