the ports look to long and might hit the subs / or the subs might hit it while thumping and could tear the cone, so i am thinkinga bout pulling them out and cutting them down a bit so that there won't be any worries
Edit : crutchfield doesn't have that deck short!!! what will i do?????!!!

They cut a hole through the cab and the bed and fit the box. Some of the better installs even seal the hole in the cab.

CLOUD. That is a prefabricated bandpass box.. AND no offense.. but prefabricated ones like that sound extremely poor. Your best bet is to ebay that box for a decent amount of money, and have a local shop sell you a box with better specs.

*YES these prices are low, but these guys will rip you a new asshole in shippign costs.
OR and for Nyck, Stackem, JohnJ.....
1. That box will easily fit in the rear once the front seat is folded down. (not worth it though, that box is not very good). (worst comes to worst, the seat is held in by 4 bolts. What a pain to remove it then place it back in... rolleyes:
2. Until you have experienced any of your favourite music in full fidelity (like a car audio system)... then you really have no say. People take a quick listhen in my car and it completely changes their mind.

Short, you can listen to whatever, however. The thing I dont like about the monster sound systems is the racket that comes out of them if your next to it. You will say that is some kind "old man" statement but it is true. I dont want my kids exposed the the crap they call music at massive volumes. It seems like every other word is mother fucker and that is not appropiate for young kids. Your rights to your music stops when it effects others. You can blow your eardrums out if you want but dont do it at a red light.
If you want to truely experience "your favourite music in full fidelity" get a quality home system
Im glad that the truck doesnt have to be ruined, I doubt "mom" would like that
PS I listen to alot of music I cant even play around my kids (Kid Rock, Marlyn Manson, Ozzy ect) but there is a time and a place for the "vulgar" music I love

Anything under 130db will not cause any eardrum damage to children, I daily drive @ 136db. A small compact, clean system would entertain you and the kids. NOT to mention people outside will not be pissed off by a thumping noise. A sealed 10' Adire Shiva would work wonders. You would enjoy it alot. AS for the kids.... just don't play you're offensive material with them in the car......If you enjoy home theatre, then Car Audio can be very alike and just as if nt more enjoyable.

I really didnt mean to single you out. It just seems that most that pull up to the lights have some very offensive music, its not the volume but the lyrics. Just one word of advise, I played music at loud volumes all my life and now I cant hear for shit, it does damage and it is not repairable

I could say the same thing about most of your guys' computers on this forum. fucking stupid to blow all that money on parts that will be out of date in a year, but I respect it because its a hobby you enjoy. Just as other people enjoy quality music in their cars.

Back on topic..
If you are going to use that bandpass box, it wont matter too much which of those subs you buy, bandpass boxes conceal alot of distortion, you likely wouldnt be able to tell the difference between them. Just get whatever matches well with your amp's power output.
EDIT: and for the love of god DONT just cut down those ports to make the subs fit. The length of the ports is EXTREMELY important for the sound of the box, you cant just go cutting them, it will make it sound worse that it does origionally (I hate prefab bandpass boxes, they are extremely peaky and boomy)

But I didnt have to cut a hole in the wall of my house to put my video card in. If it will fit in your vehicle thats fine, but having to actually cut holes in the car is stupid. That was my point
