well, I'll say there are a lot of Virginians who are kind of weirded out by the amount of people from NJ and NY, but I wouldn't say it's hostile or anything. It's more like "Why the hell do you all pick JMU?" not "GTFO." There are tons of people from NJ and NY though, so you'll be sure to find people from near your hometown. My 30 person comm. class has like 8 people from Long Island...my other classes are probably 70% Virginians.

don't see why they would base univeristy employment on one test...imagine if thats the one thing you fuck up in your life.

it's not based on the SAT entirely, it's also based on grades, extra curricular activities, etc..

why? both the SATs and extra curricular activities give an indication of how hard a worker someone is and how smart they are/what they know.

Some people are not from well-off parents and need to work during school instead of taking extra curricular activities...not everybody has time...and hell they are a waste of time unless it's a sport.

people who have to work to support their family during high school are generally not the ones going to college though...

ok, i get your point then. I still think the SAT is a good thing though, personally, I only did one extra curricular activity and it was a sport and I still got into JMU.
