Because ideally, i'd like to find a program where you could just "copy & paste" songs to your iPod like you would do in windows explorer. Also, since i use Winamp everytime i log on my comp, i figured i'd try that.

Ok, fair enough. Last year, a girl i knew purchased the shuffle and gave it to me to load some songs on for her. I had to install iTunes just to load up the shuffle. I thought it was a pain in the ass then because i simply wanted to drop a few mp3's in there without needing to install the software and making playlists and all that shit.
As far as winamp, I've been using it as long as i can remember for my onboard mp3 player and felt it would be easier using something i'm used to. I'll fuck around with iTunes and winamp then decide which is easier for me.

i just installed it, manually managed all my playlist (which means i ignored any of that shit), plugged in ipod and it showed up. simply clicked ipod, and dragged my music in from it's respected folder. i do use winamp though as my means to play music. i believe you can just simply open it's media library with th eipod connected, or something. google knows, he always knows.

Id prefer any mp3 player that doesn't need to have software to have songs loaded onto it. If they show up as a removable disk you should just be able to drag and drop into it, not the case with ipods or a lot of other mp3 players for some reason though.
I just use my ericsson for all that shit anyway.

do high percentage of mp3 owners in Europe own ipods? I'd say from just a 'look' at the market, they have about 75% of the American market.

Well they seem to be flavour of the month for no other reason than theyre a fashion accessory. I know a few people with them, but anytime im in town i see everything but ipods, for people in most of the shopping centres that is at least. It seems though that the average parent has caught onto the ipod name, thus every mp3 player on the market is an ipod, same as the way back in the 80's every gaming system to a parent was a nintendo.
Don't really see the attraction to them myself, can't say they do anything more than any other generic mp3 player on the market. Course you get the apple zealots defending them tooth and nail because its one of god Jobs creations. rolleyes:
