there are two spots available and they both pay more. the one the rep called me about was for AT&T land phones and that starts at 18-20 dollars per hour. my partner told me about a business care manager position availabe from our vendor (AT&T wireless) which offers a salary of about 50-60k per year. our rep told her about it and said we are basically doing the same thing at our company so we are more than qualified for. My partner was considering it but she will stay at our company until she gets let go so she gets severence. I am a contractor and do everything she does and i make $16 per hour, so this one would be a huge boost in pay for me if i were to get the job.
our rep emailed me the link after she heard i got my notice so i am applying for the spot right now. I called the other person about the technician job and left a message so i can schedule a test. things are looking good, but starting a new job always makes me a bit nervous. i'm gonna miss working with my partner, but if i get the business care job, i might actually be working with her, but only on the vendor side.
It sucks leaving places you like, but you gotta do what you gotta do when shit happens. This might be a good step for you, good luck. I've been going through the same thing, i left my job though, working at Disney World, i loved it, but i gotta get back to school so i'm moving to N.J and gonna work at a Jet engine factory, pays 18/hr. sucks ass, but you gotta do what's best for ya sometimes. beer:
