Yeah, since this has happened more than once, you might want to try and see if they will install laminated glass in the back. I doubt most cars have laminated rear glass, but it may be worth it, especially with your kid. No glass shards if it happens to explode, and may end up being stronger that just regular tempered glass.
we bitched up a storm about it because it SHOULD be replaced for free under the warranty but they would not budge going up the corporate ladder.
we ended up setting for replacement for 100 bucks(though were still pissed). they are coming out tomorrow to fix it.

i knew a guy that had that happen to him a couple of times too, the first time his car was parked in the parking lot. and then again when he was driving.
both times it happend with the back window, old dodge caravan.
it sucks cause you have to pay for that shit, fuck, even if someone smashed it you would still have to pay for it.
think were gonna get the glass coverage on our ins
no deductible and free replacement for like 8.50 more amonth

Do you think if you tinted the windows and kept one of those reflectors inside when it's parked that it may cut down on the heat inside? Sucks but perhaps you should leave one of the windows cracked a bit to let out hot expanding air when you park it. I would be pissed too. Glad the kid wasn't inside but then again, if she were, what kind of parent would you be leaving your kid in a parked car while you worked? oOo: lol
