Good idea Waffen....maybe switch the teams after a mission is complete ie Americans becomes snipers and the germans do the recon...
What I would really like is a random mission generator, one that makes a random terrain, puts enemies at random points and they do then whatever they like, patrol, sit and smoke/talk, blah blah blah And then you have your squad moving in to liberate the village or take it over...

Waffen , it seems like you now start every post with ...
"I think it would be most realistic and fun for..."

Okay
I think it would be most realistic and fun for a multiplayer setting to be like the following :
"Sniper - Sweep & Clear"
-German Side-
Two players acting as a German Sniper team in the Hedgerows or Towns of Normandie. They setup a field of fire they select themselves to defend. It could be where ever they want. They must work as spotter and shooter and use teamwork to survive. Prime Targets should be of Higher Ranks.
TO&E
Equipment: Heer Sniper Smock, and built in face veil. Minimal personal equipment aside Canteen, breadbag, Ammunition Pouches, Scope case, 6 x 30 power Binos Etc.
Weapons: G-43 Rifle with ZF-4 Scope or a K-98 Rifle with M1939 Zieß 4-Power High Turret Scope.
-American Side-
Up to Ten players act as a squad moving on recon to a town, with orders to clear out any enemy soldiers. The only way the scenario may be won, is with using teamwork, co-operation and following orders without splitting from the squad for personal glory.
TO&E
-Sgt.
Leads the Squad upfront
Equipment : Binos - 1911.45 Browning Automatic Pistol, M1 Carbine.
-Riflemen 3 to 7 :
Follows the Sgt's orders.
Equipment : M1 Rifle - Grenades
-Medic
Gives Help to Fallen Members of the Squad
Equipment : 1911.45 Browning Automatic Pistol - First Aide Equipment
-B.A.R. Rifleman
Provides Support fire for the Riflemen at the end of the Squad.
Equipment : Browning Automatic Rifle

jawol! Gut gemacht. I agree but you know that some Ami is going to complain about how the Americans should be the snipers and the germans the targets...

hey ! Waffen is back !
you might want to check out the winamp interview , it talks about how the squad combat is going to be in single player .
http://www.xgr.com/article.php?article=1685
i was kind of disappointed in the way they described how it will be (compared to what we were talking about) , but i dont know , it might be better that way .
