This is another thing that will have no real bearing on the game whatsoever. Just remember kiddies, this is a game, it' supposed to be fun and look good. How exciting would a movie be without seeing the muzzle flash from the weapons ?? It would look dull and boring, same as this game. If you take away the muzzle flash it's gonna look boring, for those of you who do like the more realistic side of things, this will probably be another thing your gonna have to put up with. It's something that people have come to expect when they see a weapon fired..and yes I know what a weapon looks like when it's fired, I've handled and fired many an automatic weapon in my life and although what you say is fact, there are also times when the flash is very visable during daylight. Once again, I'm sure there will be the opportunity for some mod maker who is knowledable about these sorts of things to rectify the slight miscalculation about muzzle flash.

SHUT UP WOMAN! Anyway, I agree, I like change. If there's some hind of some or something comping out of the gun, I don't mind. Lets make this game stand out from all the others, and this change will make it more interesting too see.

If you look at the ingame movie footage you can see the muzzle flash from the Garand, MG42 (??) and Thompson. These do sadly look completely unrealistic. I'm hoping for a different look when the game comes around. I did actually ask about the muzzle flash a while ago but didnt recieve any answer, so I dunno. I hope that while playing during the day (seeing theres time of day effects), that when you fire your weapon you only see the powder and smoke coming from the rifle and occasionally a very faint flash/flame and when you shoot at night or in dark areas you can see your muzzle flash very clearly. This would look much better then whats been seen so far, and I realize that the game has come along way since the video so hopefully whats being discussed has been changed.

Well here are a few comparison shots
M1 garand
Tommygun
MG42
And finally *snigger* wolfensteins mp 40 muzzle flash *snigger*
I have a few opinions on these. For a start the medal of honour muzzle flashes all appear to be about the same size. I would suggest that they keep the current one for the garand. Scale it up slightly for the tommygun and make one maybe 1 and a half times bigger than the tommys for the MG42. But it should be done in such a way that it does not enclose around the barrel like in that wolfenstein pic.
I like the fact that in the video the mausers flash can be seen in DOD it doesn't have one and neither does the springfield.
Dont even get me started on that wolfenstein flash lol slightly over the top i think the programmers of this game think the mp 40 is more like a vulcan cannon or minigun judging by that overexagerrated effect.

Watch movies. The flash isn't as over the top as you'd think. In the movies they use blanks which produce a larger muzzle flash, the flash in Wolfenstien is pretty much on par with those. So you can't really criticize the RtCW programers for making cinematic muzzle flash in a game that's more on the lines of a movie than a realistic venture through Germany.

hmm, just thought of something about this... again going with the "game" idea.
if they were to put realistic muzzle flash and have it barely if even visable in the daytime.... then how would all the new gamers or just "quakers" etc in general.... how would they be able to spot a soldier easily? and how would they know where the fire was coming from... quickly
i think you know what i mean.... usually the whole point of muzzle flash in a game is #1 looks really neat
#2 provides a reference point so you can actually hit the bastard.
so i am thinking they might have it probably more "gamer" oriented... but a little realistic at the same time

That's another question I have for 2015. In the previous MOH's there was a compass that also showed from which area we were getting hit from. Will there be something like that in AA. Something needs to be done because these levels are going to be more wide open.

and maybe they could have the compass help for objectives. example:
"You mission is to go north until you find the nazi compound" so you would use a map and compass in tandem to accomplish that.

Here's another question. In the ingame movie on the beach you can see the bunkers bullets. You know a streak of light that kind of looks like the muzzle flash except it moves with the bullet. Now I don't know much about guns. But I'm pretty sure that in real life bullets do not come with a streak of light. Am I right on this one.

Looking at those muzzle flashes..they all look the same (MoHAA ones) Maybe they are only temporary ones ?? Just remember the video is getting a bit old now, and 2015 may very well have changed a few, if not alot of things around....who knows, but after looking at the pics, I dont believe these will be the ones used in the game, but please someone, 2015 correct me of I'm wrong ???

those streaks of light are the tracer rounds. One tracer shoots out for every 5 rounds, that was a fairly standard usage
