A political unit having an extensive territory or comprising a number of territories or nations and ruled by a single supreme authority.

I will not deny we have influence(bourne of our extensive finacial aid to other countries), but what other nations do we rule?

Reminds me of when I saw some kids jumping in the poppies made out for memorial day. They wouldn't even be living in a free country if it weren't for those guys.. and they kick the one thing that stands for their memory.
