Well today, I was driving home from school, through the middle of down town Auckland, and I see three familiar Black Guys walking down the street on the left of me.
"Holy Shit" I say to myself, that's De La Soul. I flick the indicators and turn the car into a hotel parking lot, jump out with a pad and pen and stroll over to the trio who are walking in the opposite direction.
I introduce myself and ask for their autographs, we exchange some small talk, I shake their hands and walk off, in utter awe and amazement.
One of the coolest moments in my short life. Those guys are really cool.
I was kinda disapointed that I had missed their concert last night, but this made up for that, IMO.

Plenty.
But then, I did used to work at Heathrow Airport.
Most of these only Brits will recognise (Football) but the one at the end most of you should know...
First famous encounter was with the 1995 Nottingham Forest team. Met Stan Collimore in his prime (yeh all 2 years of it) with a girl named "Gina" who he was intimate with... Of course I then saw in the papers 2 days later that he was having problems with his current girlfriend.. her name was not Gina...
Other notable one was Robbie Williams but that was only as he passed me in a crowded Terminal 4 with his entourage.
I met Sir Alex Ferguson, manager of Manchester United Football club. This was just after Man Utd had won the treble in that fantastic 1999 season. His son works for Goldman Sachs (huge and powerful American merchant bank) and he was visiting where he worked (and where I worked for a few months).
And, probably the most famous that I can recall right now was when I was lucky enough to fly on Concorde to New York.
I was being taken to see the cockpit and passing the first row I saw Madonna fast asleep.
And no, I didn't get her autograph... I'm sure those huge brutes for body guards she had then would have taken offence if I had woken her up.
That was November 1994. And yes, she really is as tiny as everyone says she is.
