Minus fucking 8 !? Can you even see any of my facial features from 2 feet
afar ? Are you doomed if you lose your glasses ? I have -.75 on both eyes
and even though I still see almost 20/20, the thought of not being able to
walk around without glasses scares the shit out of me! I use mine to read
books or do anything on the computer but I can see almost perfectly when
outside without them...
-8 ? Ouch! ed:

Asthma (in the US Army at least) is an automatic disqualifier. Vision really doesn't matter as long as your not colorblind.

[quote="11 Bravo":f4c20]I don't know how Canada is, but here for enlisted personnel its pretty lax. Air Force is not out of the question. not everyone flies a plane in the AF (not to mention it's only for officers). anyways, enough of the flyboys biggrin: . I know in the US Army you can fly choppers with corrected vision of 20/20. I signed up for Army Airborne Infantry and have 20/30 vision. not to mention I can get Lasik surgery done for free.[/quote:f4c20]

there is a scene in the movie Black hawk Down when a Ranger at the base sucks on his inhaler... what's up with that?

If you read the book, it tells you how he got around it. I think it's something like he (Keni Thomas) lied about having asthma, and at basic when he had the chance to give it up in the amnesty room (anything like drugs, pornos, knives, or medication is considered illegal and is contraband.) he did give it up and went without it. During a run, he collapsed and was taken to medical. somehow, I think, he found a loophole in the system ( there are a lot, if you can believe it) and got back into it and no one ever got wise. I think this is what happened, been a while since I read the book. anyone know better, clarify it better.
