I never was one for all the sub-genres. One person's death metal is another person's speed metal is another person's grind metal. oOo:

If a metal band has a talented vocalist who can actually sing, and great musicians backing him/her up, odds are I'll like it. It has to be heavy, melodic, catchy, and professional.

I don't want to hear a guy who sounds like Cookie Monster scream the words "I fucked Satan with a crowbar" over and over. I'd like to think I'm a little more thoughtful than that.

One thing I cant stand in metal that is found in all nu-metal band is the constant repitition of a lyric or riff for the entire song. Examples? "Let te bodies hit the floor" what is there like 10 words to that song? Oh good song that repeats it self instead of using the extra 2 or 3 hours to make better liffs better lyrics and maybe a solo? Fuckin metal n00bs

not even close to death metal my misinformed friend. they are thrash end of story they even call them selves thrash. infact they started thrash. for one you can understad what they sing. no true death metal band has a real singer.

death metal is like cc, deacide. at the gates. to name a few. i play guitar for 20 years and grew up with it
