I don't like that rice wing on the GT-R.
The "Cammer" is the car for me....the engine alone costs $14k

That "rice wing" provides the downforce. Without it, when your pushing that thing at high speeds it bec omes extremely unstable, espcially since the GTR is extremely light weight.

Oh, so thats why Nascar run their cars around at 200 mph with out huge wings....
There are more effecient ways to create downforce that don't look so downright gawdy....

THEY DO have spoilers on theri cars in nascar, those cars are also millions of dollers a pop so they can invest in other ways. The cheapest way to get good downforce going is a rally type spoiler, you can fall in line and follow the internet trend of omg RICE and say its ugly, but that things is hella of alot better then the others. period. Also note nascar = going around in circles.

Agree with you about nascar, I hate it, just giving an example.
Most of the old muscle cars, not all, but most, used a spoiler like this...

Albiet more subdued. Your telling me that it is cheaper to build an entire wing than just a lip spoiler? Anyways, I guess its just a matter of opinion as to how it looks....
Also, I get really tired of calling rice "Rally equiped" and bullshit like that. Go watch a WRC Rally race, where do they race? Almost exclusively on gravel. I'd like to see some one with their precious "Rally inspired" ground effects and under glow neons go down a gravel road like a real rally race. Thier bulbs would be broken and the plastic bumpers would fall apart.....

who said anything about ground effects ? I wasn't talking about that at all. Why are you even bringing it in to the disscussion ? as a matter of fact, why are you bringing in body kits as well. All I said was, im tired of people bashing Alloy spoilers. They serve a purpose on nice cars.
+ What I meant by cheaper is its cheaper to slap on a spoiler, over putting millions into desinging aerodynamic bodies such as the ones in nascar. (PS, the spoiler/lip on that nascar there runs close to 3 grand a pop.

Not the body kit on these rally car has not fallen apart. beer:

The wing on the GT-R serves absolutely no purpose for a car you'll be
driving on the streets. Replace it with a smaller spoiler and the car will
perform the same. Say what you will, but that wing looks rediculous
and definately goes the way of rice. Just take a look at the 5.0 Cammer.
That car should out perform the GT-R and has a small trunk wide lip-spoiler
as the one used on Nascar. The GT-R is a concept car so thats why all the flashy stuff.

arkan, IF YOUR buying a gtr, you ain't buying it for your daily comute, your buying it for weekends t the track and fun cruising. so it does serve a purpose, they wouldn't slap a spoiler like thaT onto a car liek that unless it served a purpose.
