I bet you'd be suprised how good a car can really sound.   
For me, engine work would be pointless, that would never benefit me in any way, I dont get joy out of racing 16 year old pimple faced kids off stoplights, nor do I need to lower the life of my car by pushing it like that, I do, however, love music and since I spend alot of time in my car (or atleast I did when I bought all the stuff), I like it to have a great listening experience to complement my drive.

My brother bought a new car and upgraded the head unit and it sounded 100 times better.
