I can't beleive I'm saying this, but I actually agree with Pyro. I have observed what you desribed exactly. I would never want friends to do that sort of shit to me, they all know that it crosses from fun into not-fun and that I would kick their ass if they ever did something like that to me. Plus, I don't have friends who are stupid enough to light a newspaper on fire inside their own house knowing full well that the guy will definately get up and the fire will go somewhere unpredictable and probably burn the whole house down.
