[quote="Founding_Law":88785]capt john wrote.[quote:88785]Anyway the beatles and elvis pretty much pioneered rock music [/quote:88785]
well before the beatles there were a few. like chuck berry the father of rock guitar. jerry lee lewis, buddy holly. to name a few.along with elvis they are the pioneers. imo[/quote:88785]
Of course, if it weren't for the jazz thet came before that, those guys never would have existed. 20's ragtime, 30's and 40's swing, stuff like Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, and the stuff that came before them. Also, Be-bop that was emerging at the same time like Charlie Parker. And of course, we could carry this argument back through history to Gregorian chants and whatnot.

SURE DO wink:
ok, i never will have an all time solid decision list but i'll put these in for now in pretty RANDOM order.
Music is my life, i could go on forever choosing various bands/groups/tracks because i don't attribute all my intrest to a single genre, i see music as emotions/moods so i put what i love on at the right times. Mine don't include no metal, heavy rock stuff that pretty much everyone else chose..
HATED: -----Pretty Vague!----- M16:
1.Manufactured boy or girl groups (who the hell called em a band?!?!)
2.Country / Folk music
3.Hardcore / Hard Trance is plain brainless and too simplistically dumb
4.Geri Halliwell
5.Robbie Williams
FAVES: happy:
1.The Beatles
2.A Tribe Called Quest
3.Bjork
4.Daft Punk
5.suppose i'll stick Radiohead in here, i like em
theres so many types of music lists i could choose, these'll do!
