oh yeah and whoever blamed the french on dday? 12,000 French civilians and partisans died as well. if it wasn't for much partisan activities, a whole lot more americans would have died. people also forget that french jews were also taken to concentration camps.

um....I'm pretty sure he made the first internal combustion engine. Maybe someone did some weird experiment in France that was theoretically right, but was never built. Just a hunch.

They have great airports!, Australia recently had to fight tooth and nail to stop the French building an airport
over the gaves of Australians killed defending France in WW1.

...As for Automobiles: Henry Ford popularized the automobile, by mass-producing it. He also invented the Transmission mechanism.

Nicholaus August otto invented the internal combustion engine, he was German.

Gottlieb Daimler, a French dude, used the design to invent the automobile.
