But i can sympathize being a NY Rangers fan. Took me my whole life to see them win a cup but let me tell you, ain't nothing like seeing your all time favorite sports team win a championship. Arkan got misty eyed on 6/14/04.

philly has 33million. It's good to see that they still have those players.
Restricted Free Agents: Patrick Sharp, Dennis Seidenberg, Robert Esche, Simon Gagne, Kim Johnsson, Branko Radivojevic, Radovan Somik.
there are some good players on that list (Esche, Gagne, Johnsson)

eh, they don't give a shit about anyone else. If worse comes to worse, they'll bring up a bunch of dudes from the Phantoms for like $250,000 each. happy:

Say 3 million on kipper and 5 or 6 max in iginla, thats 9 mill + 13 mill = 22 mill in a 38 mill cap. 16 mill to sign everyone else. Payroll in 2004 for calgary was even under the cap put in place now. I think we were at 35 mill or so. And that was before the 24% rollback. I think Calgary is in pretty good shape.

No touch icing.
They have in the the CHL and WHL. Once the puck passes the goal line, the play is blown dead. THat means there is no race to the puck and no one gets hurt in the corner. I'm reminded of Ryan smith who was racing for an iced puck and got tripped up and broke his leg a couple years ago.
No red line might be implemented. THis would be like intl hockey. Means tehre would be no two line pass anymore.
There will be tag up offsides which is good IMO.
There are going to be a TON of rule changes because everyone thinks hockey is boring. Especially most Americans.
The NHL wants to change a bunch of things to make it more exciting so more people will watch.
Another thing that will definetly happen is smaller goalie pads. Thats for sure.
I personally don't find anything wrong with the product on ice. I could watch pretty much any game between any two teams, but thats because i'm a hardcore hockey fan.

what's the point of the no touch icing? Is it soley for players' safety? Because you think the NHL would want to continue the action for long as possible. no touch icing means more play stopping.

Its faster in the long run. As soon as the puck touches the line, the whistle is blown and a faceoff can take place. With the players having to touch the puck, that means they have to skate down the length of the ice to get it.
I've seen it work in the WHL. I think they've always had no touch icing. I had season tickets last year. I like it. You ice the puck, thats the end of it. I'd probably say its primarly for player safety. I mean, you have guys that are worth 5 mill skating super fast into boards to grab a puck. I remember iginla getting hurt a little from chasing one down. It would suck for the game if he went down with an injury, or anyone else of his profile.
