you guys should check out Angles and Demons written by Dan Brown, prequel to Da Vinci Code. It talks about these issues, and while I still maintain my beliefs, it certainly lightened my discontent with religious persons. Plus its a pretty danm good book.

1. The bible as you know it is a farse. The Romans took it and chopped and edited out everything they saw unfit. They also did not include 24 books !. + The translation from hebrew to latin was EXTREMELY shot to hell. YET the churches still suck on these things like tits. rolleyes: ......

do the Apocryphical books of the Bible ring a bell to anyone ? eek: .

+ The D-V code + A & D = horrible peices of litrature. Great plots, but horribly written.

I thought they were well done. And Angles and Demons touches on a lot of these issues. IMO, it makes a solid arguement for both sides.

They say that the difference in original biblical texts and modern texts is one of the best translations of an ancient book ever. I've heard people say it was close to 97% accurate in its translation.

Where did you get all the stuff about editing anyway?

Obviouslly there were changes made to the bible...which is why we need a fucking new testament...I wouldn't be so mad at the autheticy of the bible's stories if they weren't revised to suit the needs of the timeframe it was revised in.

well if you want to get technical, the Jews saw Jesus as a heretic, and yea, they didn't like him much. But wait, oh yea, what did the Church do to people it deemed as heretics? Wait didn't they like, kill them? Yea, I think they did. And oh yea, Romans couldn't care less what the jews wanted. They controlled them. They took jesus out because it was in ROMAN interest to do so.

It's a lot easier to control people when they are calm and you help them by eliminating the source of their anger. I'm not blaming the Jews for anything, I'm not saying they are evil for killing Jesus, or that they are any worse than others who have killed heretics, I'm just saying, they did it.

But the major reason they took him out was still because Jesus was too popular for his own good and they were afraid he would get people to rebel against roman rule.
