I think one of the most important things is to make sure you aren't using a crappy mask. Crappy masks fog up so bad that you can't see anything, so make sure you get a good one too use that will stay clear so you can see everything. nothing is more frustrating than having a fogged up mask without being able to wipe it off for fear of getting your eye shot out.
I got shot in th eback of the neck as well, it hurt bad. I think paintball is cooler than airsoft because it makes you more honest and it's more serious because it hurts more, but there's no doubt airsoft guns are much cooler looking.
