True, however they'll lose all their unlocks. It's yet to be seen how easy to earn those will be.
It's much easier for someone that fucked their username up to make a new account.

Join the club. . .when they said 1.4 Shader - they meant 1.4 shader -
DICE/EA have GOT to tell me what fucking graphical wonders they are pulling off that HL2/DOOM 3 are NOT - that requires a 1.4 card. . .[/quote:c2af3]
HAHAHAHA No shit, I cant run this fucking game on my PC. It makes me SICK....good thing my new computer has allready been started. I wonder...what specs are needed to run this game a FULL Settings, with AA/AF on Max? I am just wondering...a REASONABLE answer please. But anyhow...my computer runs this game so bad that when I first loaded it and checked the video settings...everything was on the lowest of low settings...SOO, I hoped in a server and asked the people if the game auto selects ur video settings...or is it default? LMFAO...I am pretty sure its auto-selecting. And I agree, you KNOW there is handshaking in the back "so to speak" because all the games now a days come with ads and promos for either ATI or Nvidia....also, all the games tend to lean more towards either of the two. Meh. lol MY PC = teh suX0rZ

Its more of a matter or being able to run the game in a 64 player server with settings maxed, full fsaa, full ansio and keep over 60fps even with mass battles going on. At the minute i don;t really think theres a pc config that could guarantee that kind of performance. Take into account ragdoll effects, some of the physics, particle effects for the explosions etc, along with 64 players fighting it out and its gonna rape most pc's.

I had this problem so I turned off my firewall beforehand and it worked, the background of the account info screen should pause if its doing something, also make sure you check this:

Battlefield 2 Accounts Notes
Something to note as you prepare to create your Battlefield 2 Account, is that that a pre-existing GameSpyID account may impact your attempts to register your account. In order to avoid receiving an error message, make sure that you follow the guidelines below.
* If you create a BF2 account using an email address that is already linked to a GameSpyID, you have to use the same password that you used for that GameSpyID account, or else you will get an error and cannot create the account.
* If you do the above, and also input a nickname that is associated with the email address, the nickname has to match case-wise with the GameSpyID nickname, or you get an error and cannot create the account.
* You can create a new nickname to go with an established GameSpyID account, and it will simply add a new profile to your GameSpyID account.
ATI Cards and Battlefield 2 Demo
In testing the demo, EA has encountered some visual issues on certain ATI cards with the previous Catalyst drivers (5.5) and are working with yesterday's 5.6 release to discover if the issue is resolved. If in playing the Battlefield 2 demo you encounter texture corruption of any kind, we recommend rolling back to the Catalyst 5.1 drivers. ATI is aware of this issue and is working to resolve it.
I've not seen any bugs really, been havin too much fun with it dance:

HAHAHAHA Yeah man I hear yah. Hrm, Lets say we put the graphics part aside (I will hit that in a min) but aside from the graphics, do you think that there is a good CPU and Memory combo that can handle the processing power of BF2? Because, if you think about it (and like you said) right now there probably isn't a graphics card that can handle all the aforementioned details. SOO, why I said to hold off on the graphics card is because Nvidia is going to be debuting its new gard. If I am not mistaken (which I prolly am) wont the new Next-Gen cards come with a separate Processing unit for the Physics engine alone? Meaning, it will take the physics stress off of the CPU and place it on the new processing unit found on the Graphics card. Well, its just my thoughts....I am going to wait for the next gen graphx cards before I finnish my PC. Was going to get the 6800Ultra 256 PCI-X...but gonna wait now.
