What I was thinking until this thread was hijacked and steered into a flame war, but thanks for the contributions guys oOo: . I think Bukdez kinda got it, using it in a leisurely manner desensitises it's meaning. I do think the teacher was out of place, maybe because of his choice of words, or maybe because he's a teacher and teachers shouldn't talk in the same manner as students do to their peers. It's kinda hard, the levels of what we take offense to vary from person to person.

The average white person like Acideyez/Himmler etc, will never understand because they can't seem to grasp the idea of MORE THAN ONE GLOBAL OPINION AMONG OTHER RACES. Not all black people agree on the use of the word. Just like not all white people like strawberry ice cream.

GOD FORBID THERE IS MORE THAN ONE SINGLE OPINION WITHIN THIS SINGLE RACIAL GROUP.

It's not quantum physics, shouldn't be hard to grasp the idea that based on it's history, it is a very tender word to be used...Some people have obviously decided to go full circle by using the word as a term of endearment as a means of lessening the effect of the word itself, whereas others haven't, and would rightly take offense.
