Lol you wanna see how bulky and heavy the ps3 is in the vertical position compared to the 360, also weighs a lot more, something like 11LBS. ed:

I thought they were going to come out with some firmware upgrade that fixes the spinning drive. SOmething about how it slows down the drive when it doesn't need to be spinning at full speed or something. But yeah, the thing is pretty damn loud.
Never heard of a firmware upgrade. Find it now... rock:

Also i have the Nyko intercooler snapped on the back of my 360 and it works really good.

The nyko intercooler is a piece of shit, it takes power from the 360 and can cause it to short out.

If i were you id remove that thing, take a dump on it set it alight and pray to god gates for forgiveness. ed:

Why is everyone so concerned about temps in the 360? Its designed to run that way, when im gaming on my pc my 2 cards hit 90+c each and my cpu hits over 60c. My ps3 belts out a load of heat at the back as well as my 360, theyre designed to run that way.

Were just trained to accept that when shit runs super-hot, that something crazy is going on. Especially something that costs as much as the XBOX360 (I dont care if they PS3 cost 600 for the "good" one - 400 for a good XBOX is still a shitload of cash).

Im still hoping someone will eventually come out with a mod that allows games to be dumped to the HD - bypassing the need to read from the disk (and thus shutting the fucking machine up and decreasing load times). . .sort of like HD-Loader for the PS2 (god I love that mod).

I found out you can change you rname for 800Points. . .which is the equivalent of 10 fucking dollars. The hell with that. Ill live with my name choice.

I also suck at controller based FPS's.

Its the firmware hack. I bought it pre-modded. The problem was that the discs would SOMETIMES load up. . .and most of the time would not. It kept on giving me an "Open Tray" error - and for like an hour, I searched online finding out where I go to start the fucking game. . .not realizing that if the game was to play it would say PLAY GAME where OPEN TRAY was displaying.

I found out that on some firmware or other - the laser goes "off track" into dead territory and doesnt go back to reading the disc - and stop spinning. So I spent about 4 hours of cursing getting the pos open. . .to apply a bit of rubber band to keep the laser from going off-track. At first it didnt work. . .but once i trimmed the band up a bit, I got it up and going.

What I wouldnt give for a fucking modchip though, but something tells me with this laser behavior - Id still get the same problems.

Still the shit works so Im not going to complain - for about 15 minutes there I thought I broke the damn thing.

Would depend on them making regular hard drives accessable to the 360, you're not gonna fit much on the standard drive it has (13 gig free space).

loading time son the 360 are pretty good, with the ps3 data has to be dumped to the hard drive for a lot of games (even demos), tekken 5 for instance when you buy the game first time you put it into the ocnsole you've to wait 7 minutes for it to dump files to the hard drive, and even after that the loading times between matches are pretty long. its not a bit of wonder sony opted for a 60 ig hard drive and allowed users to upgrade the hard drive with a regular sata 2.5 laptop drive, if you have a large game collection the 60 gigs will be eaten up pretty fast.

True - but they have to be able to do something with those USB ports. . .shit I dunno - Im not a techie guy. I just know going from HD based gaming to DVD is semi painful. At least on some of these games the only loading is actually from out of the game into it - once inside it just runs. Which is nice.

Yeah load times are relativity fast. A LOT faster than my PS2, that thing took minutes to load games.

Also FPS on a console to me has gotten easier. I use to hate it, but i can play R6 Vegas and CoD3 without any problems.

you should update the firmware, its really easy to do. i did my Hitachi 78fk, and did some sammy drive for some other people. i got a free via vt6421 (i didnt need the card for my Hitachi, but needed it for the sammy drives) card out of it plus money for DL disc's.
