That's just what i was gonna say, this is really reminding me of the League of Nations which also did basically the same thing.
I still can't beleive people who think that we are going to war for oil. WE ARE NOT! The reason that oil prices are soaring is because the strikes in Venezuela, the 3rd largest oil producing country in the world. If we wanted oil, we could have just invaded them. Also, just like in the Gulf War, Saddam will probably dump or set much of his remaining oil if he loses, so we can't have it.
Comparing this to D-Day is just stupid. D-Day was completely different. Iraq and 1940's Germany are quite different militarily.
For those people saying we have no business there, he only has short range missiles....These missiles can shoot Israel, a good ally, and he has connections to ists to whom he can give or sell chemical or biological weapons. What really es me off is the anti-war people will be the ones crying the hardest if we were to get another domestic ist attack. They would blame the Bush administration for not seeing it coming, like 9/11. hake:

Yes, the French were quite unreasonable... with the aim of Veto'ing everything that was put infront of them...
But to say that they should be blindingly sucking the US off for what was done for them 55+ years ago... is pretty stupid.
Things change, accept it, but never forget it. The sacrifices made by Allied soldiers in World War 2 is something the French people, never, ever will forget. This war was not only fought on their doorstep, it was fought in their fucking living and dining room, kitchen, fireplace and outhouse. Stop being such asses.
You guys must be a fucking joke if you're going to say that by, today, 59 years later, disagreeing with something the United States puts forward, the French Government is somehow dishonouring the spirit of our dead servicemen...
It's a piece of overused slang, and I hate it... But get fucking real.

2 things - 67% of america agrees with bush's actions - thats a bigger margin than the first iraqi conflict that had broader world support.
n.korea - the us wants nothing to do with n.korea. They are to china as isreal is to us and the US doesnt want anything to do with china. Too damn big and nukes. Saddam is the current target, then n.korea thru diplomacy.

Your Damn right it is over used this comparoson dosnt even work because the nazis took over france sadam hasnt attacked anyone since the golf war was fought. we lost so many men fighting off the naizs because we ran out of options to get them out of france. there are many options still avalible to the US right now. and people who think that this will just be another golf war are out of there fu*king minds. Sadam might be a insane but he dose learn from his mistaks like he cant win a normal war so he will make them come to the citys where technolgy dosent mater because it's usless in the citys. then when he has them in the citys knowing he will still loose eventualy he launch bio wepons like the anthrax that the US sold him at the troops and some at isral. isral will respond with nucler wepons and kill some of the US troops in the proses.( not a very good allie to have)

No one is comparing this too D-Day.....you've missed the point. All we are suggesting is that France take a good look at the sacrifices made by the Americans to retake France from Germany. It's that simple. France are an arrogant and forgetful country. The owe America AND Britain their lives and so much more. For them to turn their nose up and not even consider a new proposal at the UN is the most ignorant move they could have possibly made.
Dont take that picture as a comparison to D-Day....thats merely to remind the French what the cost to America the freedom of France took.

Unfortuantely you are right. He holding his republican gaurd back in bagdad to survive the intial offensive. It will get ugly there, but saddam has shown repeatedly that he doesnt care how many die and has shown an affinity for using civilians as shields. Maybe his troops will start surrendering to the press again. We can only hope.

if it wasnt for france the US would have never won its freedom from England and we wouldnt even be haveing this conversation also the reason the french dont want to go to war is because they have experienced the pain of there homes bombed famliys killed in the streats and the devistation left behind the war machiens that and iran and n.korea have now started nucler wepons programs

The problem here is the word 'they'. Who are you referring to? Saddam? Iraqi's? The whole middle-east? Blacks? Jews? See where i'm getting at?Generalization doesnt help in this conflict, it's not like all iraqis are retarded fundamentalists who see Saddam as some kind of god.

only if that regime hijacks our planes and crashes them in to our buildings, sure...what are we gonna say "oh come on guys, please dont do anything else bad to us"...[/quote:a13ca]
maybe it's just me, but i seem to recall that hijacking had something to do with Al Qeada, not Saddam......

Sorry, I should have made it clearer for you...to make my point the clearest, im going to quote Donald Rumsfeld...
[quote="Donald Rumsfeld":07276]
"We do have solid evidence of the presence in Iraq of al Qaeda members, including some that have been in Baghdad."..."We have what we consider to be credible contacts in Iraq who could help them acquire weapons of mass destruction capabilities."
[/quote:07276]
Well it seems to me the main man in Iraq is Saddam? Hmmmm hake:

if you read the papers i.e New York Times and Philly Inquire you would know that because sadam practises a difrent form of islam then osama and would never work with him because of that. Also Donald Rumsfeld has said that we caught the #2 man in alqada 5 times now. "you shouldent trust someone on bushes pay list, they might not be trustworthy(full of shit)"

Of coarse he will fight, he's already made himself an underground shelter, with elevator, bowling alley, and swimming pool.
