Also I was mad when they picked the YF-22 to replace the F-15 out of the Yf-23. I liked the YF-23 more manly it was faster then the F-15 and the YF-22. Uh.. what are you on? The F22 is equipt with Supercruise engines. This means the the F22 can cruise at supersonic speeds without use of an afterburner. It also does have an afterburner. Notice the word "cruise" most aircraft cant sustain the speeds of the F22 with the fuel economy.

Same with the YF-23 read about it.

The YF-23 was faster at mach 2 (F-22's top speed is mach 1.8)
The F-22 was more manuverable, easier to maintain and slightly cheaper than the YF-23.

And the latest F-15's top speed is 2.5 so neither are faster than it.

The F-15 to me is still a greater fighter then both.

Yes they still use them right now they are running out of parts if you look at the most recent photos they are missing the refueling probe door on a lot of Tomcats. Once something happens to a 70 billion dollar aircraft carrier when the Super hornet is defenting it they will bring back the Tomcat fast. The Hornet was a great plane before they updated it now the Super Hornet sucks. Also the tomcat can go so fast it can melt its canape. I think we will be seeing the F-14 tomcat alot longer then we think.Or we can steal some from Iran they still have some about 80 just sitting there and 12 flying still.
