Just because someone falls in love with someone of the same sex doesn't mean they should be DISCRIMIATED against. It is like telling me since I am a woman I should not vote; it is saying that African Americans should still not have civil rights.
If this happens Bush is going to make us move back 70 years. We have only gotten half as far as we should be and another dumbass Bush is going to set us back once again...
I am sorry about the language but this really gets to me... there are too many people out there that want this and too many people out there that stay together longer than a heterosexual couples that should DESERVE the same rights as everyone else!!!! mad:

I believe in god, but I also believe that I live my life to the fullest and how I want to, I don't need someone to tell me how to do it.

Anyway. Do any of you truly believe that the moral and ethical standards of this country are better now than when the country was founded? I mean come on, seriously. Back then crime was non-existant. Granted, there were mistakes made.. slavery, oppression of women. But they also had a lot of things right.

I just think that George Washington is probably rolling over in his grave right now. Back in those days, people didn't even consider a life without religion. When they wrote the Constitution, and drafted bills into law, they were basing it on the prevailing Christian beliefs. The whole purpose of the part about Separation of Church and State was to prevent running into the same problems as were seen in England where the government was mandating that all citizens attend the Church of England and only the Church of England.

Shit, I didnt know Democracy and the Republic were Christian values, I could have sworn they were Greek! WTF was I thinking?! Wasnt homosexuality pretty common in those days too? I thought Christianity stressed the Inquisition, witch hunting, torture, crusades, feudalism, and christmas cards. Your assumption that our secular system was intended to prevent yet another anglican reformation is not only fucking retarded, but its also insulting. Im sure notions of Liberty and Fraternity bore no significance to secularism at all. In fact, they probably put it there just to take up space and to fuck with us.

But now, we have these fanatics like the ACLU who are running around and practically raping the Constitution with its own good intentions. I mean, the country was founded on Christian morals and ethics, the very basis of Christianity is woven more tightly amongst our government and laws than most would care to believe.

Yeah fuck the ACLU, what the fuck did they ever do for us? How about the child labor laws, minimum wage, teaching science and evolution in school, freedom of speech activists, desegregation, being able to criticize your government and all kinds of shit.

And now just look at our country unravelling as these radicals do their best to undo what has for the past 200 years made America the greatest and most powerful country in the world.

Umm the US didnt become the most powerful nation until 1945, and it wasnt because of our christian values, it was because we made more shit to beat the axis powers with. oOo:

And if you want to deny that it's because of these radicals stripping the public of all religious reference - and therefore removing their moral compass (the basics of United States law were based on the Ten Commandments and parts of the Hammurabi) - that's fine.

What is the shitter? Poor education, unemployment, intolerance? That sounds like shit to me, but I guess since im a liberal, I can just blame Bush. Poor education: Funding for colleges were cut so that most had to raise tuition in order to stay open. LEAVE NO CHILD BEHIND, RIGHT?? Unemployment: Read the fucking news once in a while, how many jobs were lost and compare it to how many were created since bush took office?? And just to take this a step further, take note of the European countries that our local liberals try so desperately to mimic. Germany, for instance, which has an incredible track record concerning crime, has one of the most religious populations in Europe. (along with a huge fetish with scat and s&m) Religion is a huge influence in European culture, and because people accept it as part of life, not because it's mandated by the government. (which is why france is trying to ban muslim women from wearing headdresses in school. OH but since they arent christian, who fucking cares right???)

I am totally against gay marriage. I went to church this past year for my Grandfather's memorial mass and the priest brought up gay marriage and had a powerful arguement against it. That convinced me.

Heres a news flash kids - Marraige is NOT a right. It has NOTHING to do with being recognized as a legitimate couple, or are we really supposed to believe that gay community wants a stamped piece of paper from the same group they're condemning. Right. Civil Unions are in place, and afford SOME of those rights and thats the way it should be. The Federal government AND the MAJORITY of this country should not have to be forced to change their beliefs or the standards because a publicity seeking dick of a mayor in San Francisco wants to piss on the MILLIONS of people who voted on Proposition 22 so that he can make headlines. Funny, when Democrats break the law for the "greater good" they're forward thinkers, when Bush sends troops to Iraq, he's a war mongorer.
