I haven't tried it yet. I just heard from a lot of people that it really hurts loading times.

COD 2 is said to be using that engine, but that hasn't been officially confirmed yet.

[quote:5931f]There's another new weapon that might raise a few eyebrows: the Ionized Plasma Levitator, also called the Grabber. It performs a function similar to that of Half-Life 2's gravity gun, taking advantage of DOOM 3's advanced physics system to let you pick up objects, move them around, and even use them as weapons. If you've played Half-Life 2, you'll find a few differences: you can grab projectiles from enemies and fling them back, or even pick up small enemies and toss them at each other.

It would be easy to treat the weapon as a knockoff of the gravity gun, but -- as was the case with Half-Life 2 -- the gadget was borne out of something the team had already been using during the creation of DOOM 3. "It's one of those things that's just fun, and we've had it around in our engine," Hooper explains, "we actually used it as a tool throughout development where we'd grab physics objects and place them around the world." While there was some thought to adding the gun to DOOM 3, the team decided against it. "We talked about that quite a few times, but we had such a big arsenal of weapons, and so many other cool things going on, that it was just one of those things that never made it in."[/quote:5931f]

kinda interesting, maybe they did make it first, but HL2 released it first, so of course ppl are going to credit VALVe for making the first gravity gun.

Also rumours its using the doom 3 engine, doubt either of them is true.

This random gibberish on this site mentions liscensing the doom 3 engine near the bottom, but the fact theyre using the same scanned pics as everyones seen probably means speculation on their part.

The pc gamer article said this

Been playing with the gravity gun mod for doom 3, pretty fun, for ragdolls doom is easily on the same level as hl2, not as many physics objects though. I made a little marine stack.

Marines get lonely on mars with no women loney:

More or less proves that a gravity gun of some type was in the game at one point, and id weren't bullshitting about it.

Can dload that mod here http://files.ingame.de/doom/mods/gravmod.zip reading the readme is advised to get it working (for once).
