... if you dont understand the balance between nature and mankind YOU should be hunted down and "consumed". im sure he understood the danger of what he did ... you cant expect to invade their habitat and expect them to be kind. i dont recall him being attacked at the zoo where he "cared" for them tho. it was only after he had sought them out in their natural habitat.

Exactly. You can't treat animals like human beings. He knew the risks, he acted like a punk sometimes and in the end the risks got the better of him. I wasn't surprised when I heard he'd died. You enter wildlifes natural habitat and you better know what to expect or you'll end up as lunch. RIP mr Irwin, at least he died doing something he loved which also helped spread awareness, albeit not in the best of ways.
Animals have been around much longer than us humans have, remember that.
