That demo was actually suprisingly good, the movement feels a little strange but you soon get used to it.

Here is my little quick and dirty write up

WOW.

Very impressed and I don't care for single player sides of games . I will say, out of the 3 major issues we had at the MP summit (where I did play a level or two of SP), 2 out of the 3 issues have been corrected - Mouse lag and FPS have been fixed. Dedicated server is still to be seen, once the game ships.

My current rig taken from my Nvnews.net sig:
Main Box:Intel X6800|EVGA 680i SLI|2GB(1GBx2)corsair XMS2 1066|Evga 8800GTX Ultra SC - 162.18|150Gig Raptor SATA|4x WD 250Gb SATA|2x Lite-on 1673S DVDRW-all|X-Fi Fatal1ty 2.07.0004|Logitec G7-setpoint 3.1.116|Ergodex DX1-firmware 1.1-driver1.3|-Dell UltraSharp 2405FPW 24-inch LCD|PCPower and Cooling TurboCool 1000 SLI|Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2, DirectX 9.0c(4.09.0000.0904)|Klipsch THX 5.1|

** edit I should mention I'm using the Bioshock beta drivers under windows XP. I can't be bothered running the game in Vista.

Res 1920x1200
Everything maxed out
Solid 60 frames, which I believe is locked via the engine.

My only compliant or so to say was:
- Demo is too quick - finished it in about 10 minutes
- Some of the death animations where a little wacky. I would shoot an enemy and he would react in the opposite direction.
- some minor tearing and I had vsync enabled
- mouse invert does not stick, have to re enable it every time you play.

This is the first time (including the MP summit) where I'm proud of a Medal of Honor game. EA has done a great job with the single player aspect of the game. Here is crossing my fingers we will see this much polish on the MP side of the game.

Screen shots and more info coming later today.

after reading that review and your system specs I will have to download this demo. I really hope we have a winner here. I long for the days of Remagen and DV and I hope this game delivers.

I was honestly suprised when i was firing at a guy and he ran away and hopped through a window opening, the ai does seem to have more of a clue what and what not to do. Smg ammo seems pretty sparse in that level, i levelled up and got the pistol grip upgrade and only had about 32 rounds left, found some ammo here and there got maybe 2 mags worth of trying it out with that upgrade.

From what i seen when i played you can't run over an mp40 and get ammo if you have a tommygun, you either have to find a tommygun laying around or find smg ammo bags (seems to be the same for the other weapons as well). You only fight wops in the demo and you get told they can't fight worth a shit (ooh burn) at the end you come up against some germans but that where the demo ends. So more than likely the germans will react bettter and be tougher to fight.

Did notice an audio bug though, i think i heard the trademark garand "ping" maybe twice in the whole time playing, it just seemed not to play most of the time. My only real gripes are no sli\crossfire support (readme says the demo doesn't even support vista 32 or 64) and no anti aliasing support.

If the rest of the game cna live up to that dmeo it looks like the MOH series might have been brought back fomr life support, thats for the SP experience anyway, multis another kettle of fish.

I told you guys it was going to be good. The last good game was Allied Assault. It was, after all, the reason we're all registered on this forum. I knew Pacific Assault was going to be ass, something just didn't seem right with it. This game just has the look of a great game.

Some pics here:

Pic #5 that guy came flying out the window as a result of the grenade. biggrin:

Another thing i liked was they actually use the stick grenades properly, when you throw it you see him pull the string at the bottom, details people details. rock:

Great stuff!

Seemingly the guys must've pulled their finger out after all and the minor issues will hopefully be sorted in a patch.

I just found out my new pc is ready a day early so I'm off to go get it, yay

Yes, gtboys it's fun!

geRV, the readme states they will not support Vista/SLI and Crossfire in the demo however:

You can play in Vista it works fine.
People with SLI can play however I would imagine nvidia\ATI will release drivers closer to release to improve things.
you can force AA in ntunes for Nv cards, don't know what the equiv. is for ATI

If they can get the server sided stuff right, on release day then we may be in for another great game from the series (minus PA)....

That's what gets me geRV

Why did they put all that stuff in the readme? TBH if it was me, I would have read that and not even bothered to install on that platform.

I wonder how much other stuff we will see (on the MP side of things) that EA said is not possible.

Let's hope the U3 engine comes to our rescure, because if EA can pull this out, we are in for some great WWII gaming fun.

I see the old AA.com server coming back rock: if they can!
