I think the big question is why put in a shotgun in the first place?

there are other cooler, and certainly more military weapons, that could have been put in the heavy slot, for example deployable belt-fed MGs, even the "n00b geschutz" (at least there were more M-1 grenades and gewehrgranate being used in the ETO than freaking shotguns)

i aint whining about shotguns cus thats what i use! i just wanted other peoples opinions

Zoner 01-16-2003 07:41 PM

Sorry I came off a little harsh, Polska.

Think of it this way: asking peoples' opinions about shotguns on this forum is like going into a microsoft forum and announcing that Windows 95 sucks.

It's just beaten to death.

p.s. - don't ask anyone about rockets, lean-strafing, aimbots, or sniping either.

snipeymagoo 01-16-2003 08:47 PM

honestly, who gives a shit?

Simo Häyhä 01-16-2003 09:19 PM

shotguns are the cheapest fucking weapon ever, i used to own a server that disabled shotties and gave you just 2 rocket rounds. anyone who uses a shotgun is an untalented 12 year old with no friends and rancid body acne  to sum it all up, shotguns were a waste of modeling effort, gimmie a carbine instead!

Isabella 01-16-2003 09:25 PM

If ya can't beet the shotties, join em, otherwise I don't give a Frack what anyone uses. Its all fun! eatthis:

If I can't beat the shotties with rifles, I don't join 'em. I mow 'em down with SMGs.

a shotgun is a weapon. it kills people. does it matter if it is a shotgun or a rifle or a revolver or a nuclear bomb or a grenade or a knife or a fist or a paper cut or a M16 or an ak47 or an m1 or a grenade launcher or a bazooka or a smart bomb or a 1000lb bomb or a 17 pound artillery shell or a mortar round

Actually, those are the cheap ones. Good shotguns start around $500 and you can pay thousands for really good ones.

Its actually fun to go in the MOHEast servers (where noobs play), and camp behind the first door to allies spawn.. the hallway where the axis wait, just camp there and you can get the rocket newb that always charges and respawns. Its pretty funny until they pin you down and roll a nade out there. oOo:

I also like to use rockets and camp the control room door... its fun to "lock" it by sitting on the hinges and then when they burst through just shoot straight at the ground and take both of your lives.

At the bridge I go through the wine cellar and up the stairs, I snipe all the axis coming from their spawn and in those houses. hake:

And at the hunt my camping place is obvious... the axis house!! For allies I camp the ladder house until the axis are out of nades and then I wipe them out with my... you guessed it... shotgun!!

oOo:

..and there you go. Shotguns are not, in fact, cheap.

1. Shotguns aren't cheap. They are good CQB weapons, now on a non-realism server they are a complete joke, I've yet to see pellet shot that you can snipe with evil: but apparently EA got their hands on some for this game!

2. SMG's are just as legitimit. If your playing on a non-real server you might as well get used to the spray and pray tactics. Now on ones that use mods like the Ares5 realism mod that incorparate view-recoil that pretty much nullifies those type of players. And for those that complain that the recoil is unrealistic, go out and try running through an entire clip from from a Thompson. The average 175# man's arms will move up way over a foot and a half without resistance(which is basically what your doind when moving your mouse back to re-aim), trust me!

3. For the uber-elite, rifles, bolt action preferably. Nothing as satisfying as waxing a noob in the head who's spamming smg/mg/shotty rounds at you as he's waddling/lean-strafing straight at you.
