You can't even vote yet, young Proteus.

Kraut Killer 08-08-2004 04:20 PM

"Shoot to kill" is my motto. Following that is "I swear to God they dead before I got here officer"... yup, that's my second motto.

In dire circumstances, I follow that mindset too.

Re: Things you need to believe to be a Republican.

[quote:92386]Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when
Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business
with him and a bad guy when Bush needed a "we can't find Bin Laden"
diversion.[/quote:92386]

Saddam was NEVER a "good guy". When we armed him we did so reluctantly so that he might be able to not only fend of an invasion from Iran but would be able to do some massive damage. With those weapons and technology he then used that to try and flex his muscle against Kuwait. The determent and liberation of Kuwait was a UN sponsored endeavor. 660 and 662. Look it up. Were we interested in protecting our interests in the middle east - of course. It would be STUPID to think that a seized Kuwait would not have consequences for us as a people. Condemning those actions because we needed to keep the WORLDS oil supply out of the hands of a dictator is ridiculous reasoning.

Funny no mention of Clintons assualts on Iraq.

[quote:92386]Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is communist,
but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of
international harmony.[/quote:92386]

Trade with Cuba is wrong because its been in place during Democrat AND Republican Presidents. It should also be noted that Cuba REFUSES to sign or endorse UN resolutions condemning terrorism. I'll have to do some searching for that particular paper.

[quote:92386]The United States should get out of the United Nations, and
our highest national priority is enforcing U.N. resolutions
against Iraq.[/quote:92386]

There is always grumbling about the UN - and much of it is true. As a body it HAS no real authority or power, it is GLACIAL to act, and much humanitarian aid is bogged down in politics. You CAN complain about someone and still work with them.

[quote:92386]A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body,
but multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting
all mankind without regulation.[/quote:92386]

Yawn. This is a silly one. "Multi-nationals" is another liberal buzz-word for big-scary-corporation.

[quote:92386]The best way to improve military morale is to praise the
troops in speeches while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay.[/quote:92386]

Veteran benefits/pay ARENT being slashed. Another myth promulgated by the left.

[quote:92386]If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have
sex.[/quote:92386]

It isnt the schools job to promote/proscribe sexual behavior. Sex Education should be the be/all end/all of schools involvement.

[quote:92386]A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our long-time
allies, then demand their cooperation and money.[/quote:92386]

The two arent related.

[quote:92386]Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy.
Providing health care to all Americans is socialism[/quote:92386]

All americans have health care - noone is refused service that needs it. Not everyone has health INSURANCE.

[quote:92386]HMOs and insurance companies have the best interests of the
public at heart.[/quote:92386]

This is a sticky one. Do you want a national health care system like Canadas - or do you want one that exists on a federal AND private level.

[quote:92386]Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk
science, but creationism should be taught in schools.[/quote:92386]

I dare ANYONE to find a majority of republicans that believe this crap.

[quote:92386]A president lying about an extramarital affair is a
impeachable offense. A president lying to enlist support for a war in
which thousands die is solid defense policy.[/quote:92386]

You're right - lying to his wife is Clintons business. Lying to a Grand Jury is the DOJ's.

[quote:92386]Government should limit itself to the powers named in the
Constitution, which include banning gay marriages and
censoring the Internet.[/quote:92386]

This old chestnut. Gay "marraige" isnt banned. It simply isnt recognized for the federal program we call "marraige" in the good ol' USA.

[quote:92386]You support states' rights, which means Attorney General
John Ashcroft can tell states what local voter initiatives they
have the right to adopt.[/quote:92386]

If initiatives encroach on constitutional rights, then yes the AG has the POWER to step in. Sorry but he does.
