I tend to agree with the idea that the media is instilling a culture of fear these days. I don't think kids now are any more violent than when I was growing up. I knew who the "bad" kids were in my school. There was always that bully element present. It's nothing new.

The difference as I see it is if a kid got beaten up in my school in 1985, the parents, the teachers and possibly the police were involved. It seems that nowadays, you can add CNN to the friggin' mix.

As funny as that sounds, really, look how many kids decide to act dumb just because its what they did on the simpsons. Of course yeah you're technically right if you knock down that point by saying "Well the parents should have taught their kids that animated cartoons and life are two very different things", but if thats your opinion, fuck you. Because, you know... its different than mine.

i agree with most of what you said, except the simpsons part... i think kids should be held more responsable for thier actions...
