if it was during the day there is a good chance its rabid. Id get rid of it for good. (yes that means killing it, sorry tree huggers) You have kids to worry about, possums are nocturnal animals and to see one out during the day is a red flag that something is wrong.

right on the NH border and a wooded area, we have raccoons and a few medium sized wild cats
pfffft to your little possum |
Backwoods of nowhere New Hampshire. We have things that make your oppossum look like an appetizer. BTW

They could be finding a place to bed down for the day or we flushed out of somewhere by a dog. Around, theyd be rabid. too much woods for them to be looking for a shed to bed down for the day. Look up Hydrophodia zoonosis |
I'd rather deal with an oppossum than the wildlife up here where I live.

i still own the animal kingdom............i'm gonna go f*** my wife and complete the circle.

I dont quite understand your post????? First I didnt say it was rabid I said there is a good chance it is. Possums dont go out in the day, it is possible a dog or something did scare it out of its bed. They dont need woods either, they go to where the food is. Unkept trash and messy people are a critters favorite. I tried to look up your word but all I got was a definition of rabbies. If there was even the slightest chance a rabid animal was near my kids Id do something about it. We have plenty of woods here too, more than most states. We have plenty of critters too. For the most part these animals are pests. They are over-populated and need to be dealt with. The reason they have rabies is just that, they are over populated and its mother natures way of dealing with it. |

Natural disasters are the easy way out, floods, meteors, hurricanes... meh... have some balls mother nature and give us a good ol' fashioned epidemic disease or something. You gave us a good run with your bubonic plague and AIDS, but I'm gonna need a little more effort this millenium, lets keep it interesting. |
what no one has quoted the lyrics to possum kingdom yet ? figured that was a gimmie. you guys are getting slow.
|
find: "carve that possum" by dave macon and the juice jar band... they make possum stew or preserves or something, according to the song it is quite tastey...
