Well with all the snipers it my as well not even be called omaha beach it should be called Sniper beach party 2002 the MG42's are useless as dirt i agree with the petition but like i said before the invisble wall thing is....waaaay out there.Personally i like being a allie and being fired upon by a MG42 because it's a great challenge and brings out the feeling that your actually there like in the SP instead of finding your head rolling down the beach into the water so there ya go.

I think the admin should decide on how many snipers there are on EACH side. I also think it's lame when the Axis camp and snipe the boats. Isn't that a spawn kill? Anyway, I have my own ways of countering the snipers. To tell you the truth, I don't think this should be our main concern though. Cheaters should be our main concern. And invisible barriers?!! Come on people, that's just stupid.

Don't you sniper complainers realize that if Allies didn't have snipers that everyone would just complain that the Machine Gun Bunkers are too powerful. The two balance each other out. Besides, snipers aren't worth 2 cents towards destroying the Allied Objective in Omaha Beach. They're only useful from the Allied Side of the barbed wire barrier and not worth much once they've penetrated the Bunker. Let them have their fun.
Only thing I would be in favor of is class limits. I would like class limits to be applied to all maps, not just Omaha. DoD has class limits and I like it very much. [This message has been edited by Elvite (edited January 25, 2002).] |

How about a Respawn limit too, while we're at it? That dang Omaha can take way too long. If each team only had say a set amount of total lives, that would be cool. However, I'm not starting a petition on it.

Have my support for NO snipers, at least on the allied side. Maybe one or two max for the axis.
I know if I was the only allied sniper, and I was hiding in one of the boats, I could keep those four MGs clear about as fast as I can reload. I love the MG42s, they are the coolest part of this level. Only way to make them used is to allow no allied snipers. |
If they gonna keep the snipers, then the Axis need to have MUCH better MG42.
Dubbel the rate of fire, the MG42 shoot much faster in reality then it does in the game. the MG42 shoul do much more damge then it does now. I would say that the MG42 as it is for now are almost useless. Bring me some really heavy MG42 then we can start talking about whos got the advance. As it is for now the snipers can watch a movie, read a book and at the same time shoot every one of that show there face in the bunker without bother about those MG42. Let those MG42 rain bullets on them nonstop, and then we will see how many allies who has time to stand still and fire the sniper rifel |

CHEATS are part of the game as of now. Does that mean, that's how the developers intended the game to be played? Use what has been supplied to you in the game by the developers. CHEATS. RIGHT?
you have to counter act the other team. that means putting in some codes. playability? perish the thought with your guys' attitude. just do whatever it takes to win. RIGHT? these kind of people make me laugh. they'll take any cards dealt to them and play them, regardless of how good the hand is. but im glad there are some people in this forum that want to make this game a better experience. at least its easy to distuingish the smart ones from the dumb ones. Am I the only who took out the GUNNERS in the tower and in between the towers with the sniper rifle? In the SP Omaha beach? I must be because all of you are complaining that snipers on the beach is unrational, and illogical, and defeats the purpose of the MAP. yep...they want to change the game instead of adapt their playing style. I can understand what they are saying, but I think that it is fun the way it is. Excess snipers cannot meet the objectives.
Oh, and I never heard anyone gripe much about axis snipers...I was on a map last night that had a decent amount of axis snipers and they were slaughtering the allies. I can't believe I'm wasting time posting on this futile argument again but here goes:
I think, after reading every suggestion on here, the only pragmatic/realistic solution to this problem is class limitations based on the total number of team members. The Allied infantry storming Omaha on D-Day were not ALL issued Garands. Nor were they all issued thompsons. But maybe 1 out of 5 or so had an SMG, 1 out of 10 or so had a springfield, etc. Its about balance. You want realism? Then creating "invisible force fields" and eliminating all instances of a weapon class will not accomplish this. You all MUST realize this. In arguing against snipers and using "realism" as your foundation, you contradict yourselves by proposing unrealistic solutions. So lets work on getting a way for those of us who host games to set limitations on classes. All in favor, say "Aye". All those opposed, propose a more REALISTIC solution. |
hehe, the Axis rushing the beach. funny, i thought it would be the other way around. and if you didn't know, it actually was hard for the Allies to get up the beach, unlike how easy it is in the game right now. i, for one, would love to have 4 MG42's trying to take me out as i rush the beach.

My hopes would be someone would make a mod that has a class system like RtCW...that way you could have medics and commanders and such(dropping med packs and ammo). Heck, if I knew how to write coding, I would tackle it...

the problem is that sniping is way too easy and way too powerful right now. the best thing would be class limits PLUS making it harder to shoot with the sniper rifle. DoD 2.0 is going to have an awesome sniper system. right now, one sniper is even too much. he can take out all four MG42 gunners with ease. until something like that can be done, i propose no snipers all together.

My squad just did a great trick. Two of them use the mg42 while i snipe the ones that dont move. It worked, and it was fun. Try it, in the beginning the axis should snipe the ones that dont move while the mg42 knock those rushers.

How bout this, snipers cant snipe in the beach zone til you get to the sea wall, like in sp. Oh yea, can snipers snipe that far?

On any map, if proper balance is not use, by both sides, the quality of the game is degraded. Objective MP is about teamwork. When playing any of these maps, talk to your teammates. Work together. I know this may be difficult on some servers, where there are not many regulars. People who play together, usually have specific roles they play, and understand what makes a good game. I think a class system mod would be great. But it definitely isn't a necessity. Autonomy is what should rule the MP community, not EA or 2015.

I agree... Snipers on this level are getting a bit old....
I wouldn't mind if they had 10 to 20 MG42's blasting away at the top of the ridge... to me that would seem a lot more realistic... similar to the SP.... but to sit on yer arse with an eye just looking at the entry points on the beach in the boats with your wimpy little sniper rifle, doesn't that get a little boring??... If anything should be added to this map, I would say that a fog effect would be the way to go.... so those damn campers can't see the bottom of the beach... sure they might be able to see a slight shadow... somewhere but not all the time, keep them guessing where the allies are running to... Sure, having fog would also be tough for the Allies as well... you wouldn't be able to tell exactly where the shot are coming from, just the occassional tracer bullet screaming by..... On a final note, if anything would make this map the most playable would be if there were some sort of mod that prevents the use of any sniper rifles on Omaha.... But once again, that is just my opinion... |
