I think the Japanese have done an admirable job building car plants in the US in order to run the American owned plants out of business. Actually the chemical plant I worked at was American owned until the Japanese bought us. Then they started shutting down their plant in Japan and moving stuff here. US labor, and land, was cheaper than Japanese labor and land.
