"We staged this fair to explore the limits of freedom Westerners believe in," Masoud Shojai, head of the country's "Iran Cartoon" association and the fair organizer, said.

"They can freely write anything they like about our prophet, but if one raises doubts about the Holocaust he is either fined or sent to prison," he added.

"Though we do not deny that fact that Jews were killed in the (second world) war, why should the Palestinians pay for it?" Shojai told the opening ceremony of the month-long fair in Tehran's Palestine Contemporary Art Museum.

He added that around 1,100 cartoons were submitted by participants from more than 60 countries and that more than 200 are on show.[/quote:3435a]

those type of cartoons are in irans papers everyday anyway...I wonder
if they have noticed yet that no-one is foaming at the mouth, no rioters
smashing up property or that no-one even cares about their little "fair",
..like it's sooo different from their leaders frequently expressed views, isnt it.

I think they mean when someone says something like that in a western country.

There was that german holocaust denier and he was exported from Canada I believe. I'm sure the reason for his exportation was not all based upon denying the holocaust, rather other technicalities, but still, saying you deny the holocaust in a western country won't get you a lot of positive responses.

Perhaps it's a form of hate speech, but I would defend a persons right to deny the holocaust.

I doubt it. This story belongs on the "I Don't Give a Crap" channel.

BTW - If somebody wants to believe that we didn't bomob Japan that's fine. As long as they don't deny me the right to believe that the only thing we did wrong in dropping the atomic bombs is that we stopped at two.

That is the dumbest fucking shit you've ever said....You probably don't care, but I officially write off anything you say as pure shit from now on.

Oh, and if you were absolutely serious like I believe you are, then you might as well give up everything japan has given you since the war, and go the full nine.

Yamaha, Toyota, Toshiba, Sanyo, Fuji, Sony, Panasonic, JVC, TEAC, TDK, Sharp, SEGA, Roland, Ricoh, Pioneer, PENTAX, Olympus, NIKON, Nintendo, Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Kenwood, Kawasaki, Isuzu, Honda, Hitachi, Subaru, Epson, Canon, Daikin, Daihatsu, Casio, Alpine....The list goes on.

If you have anything by the above companies, then you might as well take it outside and burn it.

The Japanese haven't given us anything. We pay for everything we get from Japan. Somethings we get we pay for two times if not more.
