All servers time out.
Here's the problem. Everytime I try to get into a server, I get the message "Server Timed Out".
I do not use the Gamespy option, I use the other one which I think is Join internet game or something like that. It seems to connect fine because it lists all the servers. However, at the bottom where it shows the number of servers and the number of people on line, there are no numbers. I was able to play using the earlier version but since I updated to the 1.11 version it doesn't work. I tried connecting with the firewall off, but to no avail. Any ideas? Type reconnect in console.
|
What type of connection do you have?
|
Should've mentioned this in my first post. I am running a cable connection.
Scorpio Here are my specs as well P4 2.4 533FSB MSI 648-MAX-L 512MB PC2700 RAM WD600JB Special Edition 8mb buffer Liteon 52x CDRW Toshiba 16x DVD Chaintech GeForce Ti4200 128mb Windows 2000 |
OK, here is the latest. I tried the reconnect as suggested, still no connection. But when I open the console and type the reconnect command, there are a few lines that say "Server is running version 1.11. Download the latest patch. I downloaded the patch and installed version 1.11. What gives?

reinstall?
|
Here is the process that I followed. Repaired(No luck) Uninstalled. Registry sweep. Reinstall. Install 1.11 patch (directly from EA). Do I need to install the 1.1 patch prior to 1.11?
As in my previous post, everything appears to function properly with the exception of the browser not showing the number of servers and the number of players (at the bottom of the screen). Hmmmmm. So far thanks for the suggestions, anything else I might try? Scorpio |
I had the same problem some one told me to reinstall the game, so i did it and it worked after u reinstall it put the new patch. It does that cuz u had the other patch on in the MOHAA Reg.
|
It sounds like you did it properly, but just doublecheck using my tutorial.

Cool well it worked my way and i guess it worked Joes way cool:

Did the uninstall thing. Cleaned the registry with regcleaner. Reinstalled the game and then the v1.11 patch. Here is what is happening now.
1. Start the game 2. Multiplayer option 3. Join internet game (Now the browser shows the number of servers and the number of players online. Which it didn't do before) 4. Wait for this process to complete 5. Pick a server - Sniper server for example 6. Connecting to server. Here is where the problem starts. After about 3 seconds the game freezes. I have tried different servers with the same result. I thought it might be my firewall (Norton), but I turned it off and it still does the same thing. What do you think could be causing this problem? I am connecting to the internet through a Netgear 10/100 Hub via a cable connection. Scorpio |
Nah, I don't think a hub/firewall would crash the game. Is it possible, sure. But I dun't think it would crash it.
Do you have the latest detonator drivers for your video card installed from nvidia.com? |
I have the latest from Nvidia, 41.09. The game works great in SP. I was able to play online with the 1.1 version on another system. I have since installed MOH on my new system and updated with v1.11.
I was going to try and update MOH with the 1.1 patch to see if it would work, but haven't been able to find it. Scorpio |
check windows updates make sure you have all the 2000 updates, service pack 3
|
I don't think MOHAA works well with 2000 (well ME) Me is one of the MOST CRAP ASS operating systems ever made. eatthis: I think it could be the operating system or u have to much crap running on the back ground to check wut u have on backgroud do CRT+ALT+DELETE (i know when u do it on XP thats wut u do to find out wuts in the background)
|
I shutdown all the items running in the systray. The ctrl+alt+del indicates that there are 32 processes running (seems like alot) I am new to 2000 so I am not sure what needs to be running and what doesn't. 2000 doesn't have a msconfig option eek: so I can't run that.
I am using a no cd crack for v1.11 (ya ya I know, so don't preach about how unethical it is) could this be the problem? Scorpio |
THERE THATS THE PROBLEM i have the exact same thing u have there the no cd crack. there are only a few no cd cracks that work with the patch that will HOPEFULLY let you play the game. All you have to do is find a no cd crack that lets you put in the patch first (am not to sure if its the patch for or the cd key first pretty sure its teh patch). Then find a cd crack that is compatible with the patch

Thanks for all the input and advice. Might just have to run it with the damn disc.
One last thing. Does All Seeing Eye work with MOH? Scorpio |

Same proiblem here too. Cept I use the Full ver real CD. Im on P4 2gig gf4600ti Latest Drivers or so. Cable. XP all updates and service packs.
On the non-patched ver SP works fine. MP all servers timeout On the Patched 1.11 I get Grey screen right off the start and have to Ctrl-alt-del to get out. WTF? Thisis driving me insane. Any help?????? |
Windows 2000 is a great operating system, and I use it. I play Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (MOHAA) on it, and it works very well. Win 2k is not your problem, I don't think.
|
Well it aint working for poo on my Alienware Area-51 and thats EA's fault
I run UT, UT2k3, RTCW, and BF1942 With little or no problems. I see that im not the only one with this problem and I can imagine how many more people have just tossed the MOHAA Cd's in the trash. EA should be adressing these issues. Their help section/forum is as helpful as the game is playable for me in MP I have the full ver, the official patch, a beefy machine, Cable. THERE SHOULD BE NO PROBLEMS. bigzooka: EA Games/Support needs a bazooka in the bung-hole |
Hmmmmm, I posted a reply to this message last night from a friends machine, now it doesn't show up. Must've been deleted by one of the mods because of content. Just a guess though.
Anyway, got MOHAA running and I am able to play online. Makes a big difference with a faster machine. Thanks for the all the input. Peace - Scorpio |
