All servers time out. -
01-29-2003, 01:27 PM
Here's the problem. Everytime I try to get into a server, I get the message "Server Timed Out".
I do not use the Gamespy option, I use the other one which I think is Join internet game or something like that. It seems to connect fine because it lists all the servers. However, at the bottom where it shows the number of servers and the number of people on line, there are no numbers. I was able to play using the earlier version but since I updated to the 1.11 version it doesn't work.
I tried connecting with the firewall off, but to no avail. Any ideas?
Thanks - Scorpio

OK, here is the latest. I tried the reconnect as suggested, still no connection. But when I open the console and type the reconnect command, there are a few lines that say "Server is running version 1.11. Download the latest patch. I downloaded the patch and installed version 1.11. What gives?

Here is the process that I followed. Repaired(No luck) Uninstalled. Registry sweep. Reinstall. Install 1.11 patch (directly from EA). Do I need to install the 1.1 patch prior to 1.11?
As in my previous post, everything appears to function properly with the exception of the browser not showing the number of servers and the number of players (at the bottom of the screen). Hmmmmm.
So far thanks for the suggestions, anything else I might try?

It sounds like you did it properly, but just doublecheck using my tutorial.

Did the uninstall thing. Cleaned the registry with regcleaner. Reinstalled the game and then the v1.11 patch. Here is what is happening now.
1. Start the game
2. Multiplayer option
3. Join internet game (Now the browser shows the number of servers and the number of players online. Which it didn't do before)
4. Wait for this process to complete
5. Pick a server - Sniper server for example
6. Connecting to server.
Here is where the problem starts. After about 3 seconds the game freezes. I have tried different servers with the same result. I thought it might be my firewall (Norton), but I turned it off and it still does the same thing.
What do you think could be causing this problem? I am connecting to the internet through a Netgear 10/100 Hub via a cable connection.

Nah, I don't think a hub/firewall would crash the game. Is it possible, sure. But I dun't think it would crash it.
Do you have the latest detonator drivers for your video card installed from nvidia.com?

I have the latest from Nvidia, 41.09. The game works great in SP. I was able to play online with the 1.1 version on another system. I have since installed MOH on my new system and updated with v1.11.
I was going to try and update MOH with the 1.1 patch to see if it would work, but haven't been able to find it.
