Magnum, please help
I am having trouble getting things to become transparent like you did in the sig you made for Reich:
With the gun to the right, how did you get it transparent through the other layer like that? I appreciate the help man. |
dude-once you get everything figured out that will be one of the best war themed signatures ive ever seen
which sig are you talking about, because the first sig was made by Magnum
oh-there is is a transparent tutorial right above this post. psp7? i can tell you how to do it if u use psp7
u use layers and each layer u can change with a bar the % of how transparent it is
Well Magnum's tutorial above does not go a lot into transparent layers or whatever. It is really just about cutting parts from a picture and blending it into another picture.
BTW, I'm using Photoshop Elements 1.0 |
Oh i see DJ, where are these transparency bars though? On the Layer menu?
nvm i got psp 7

Why did they have to make it so different? |

Ok, now how do i change the transparency of a layer? and Where is this option located?
ok first u must get the toolbar open to have the layer options and then to the right in that tool bar there is some bars that u can move

the bars are labeled, opacity, and fill. |
OK, great, I got it to work now. Man, 7.0 is a lot more complicated then Elements, it has more features, but Elements was a lot more user friendly i have to say. Thanks a lot for the help guys, specifically DJ biggrin:
Sorry for the late reply guys. I was at the SU vs. Georgetown game. (SU kicked their asses.) For transparency, just use the slider in the layer sidebar or in layer style > blending options and use the slider there.
That sig that you said was too busy was only 2 layers on the right side, with the uniform and the swastika. That's usually as far as I go with conflicting images like that. |
Hmmm. what program version are you talking about Mag?
Photoshop 6. 7 is identical for that.
hmm, I think it's different in Elements. There is no "Blending Options" with Elements. Guess I'll just have to get 7.0 and then I will try again.
Damnit eek: |
Ouch, didn't know PS 7 was $400. Does anyone know a possible way to do this with Photoshop Elements??
Nevermind, I think I can just get used to doing it in Paint Shop Pro. In Paint Shop, the magic wand can't do the "Select Inverse" thing in Magnum's tutorial, is there another way to select only part of an image besides manually going around the edges with the free hand lasso? Or is there a similar way to just get rid of all the crap you don't want like in Magnum's tutorial?
You can grab Photoshop on kazaa.
maybe I'll try that, anyone know how big it is? I don't wanna waste my time with bum downloads or possible viruses
