Magnum, please help -

I am having trouble getting things to become transparent like you did in the sig you made for Reich:

With the gun to the right, how did you get it transparent through the other layer like that?

u use layers and each layer u can change with a bar the % of how transparent it is

Well Magnum's tutorial above does not go a lot into transparent layers or whatever. It is really just about cutting parts from a picture and blending it into another picture.
BTW, I'm using Photoshop Elements 1.0

Dangit, I need to get Photoshop 7.0 it seems a lot better and everyone uses it around here so I could get some help.
