Though little is actually known and documented in fact about the Soviet Sniper Vassili, the information that can be found is startling.

Movies like enemy at the gates portray a movie like image of a very cold and precise lunatic. His strategy with sniping positions and coordinating shots with multiple sniper points is brilliant.
Although today's technology far outways the ability of the human eye, you can't help but admire a man that knew only of the hunt whether it be hunting game like deer or wolves or war.

I am posting this because I need someone to help or atleast aid me in creating a skin complete with tiki, shader, textures and .skb. Preferably Soviet for spearhead.
Anybody willing to help will be much appreciated.

Vassili, is one of my, "i want to be like him" guys, as well as Weley Snipes--for his martial arts knowledge

someone already made a mohaa soviet skin that looked just like him however it was never finished because he joined some mod team that fell through like the rest oOo:

Cool. Does anyone know where I can get a Soviet skin that is Vassili? NM I'll jst make one I guess. I just figured it be easier to make a bot that alredy had the skin.

Ok I found four on the net and NONE of them even come close to resembling Vassil. Vassili was a soviet that mostly wore his uniform or a tan and brown leather coat with sheep skin collar. He does not look like an allie. He doesn't wear a helmet all the time.

I've decided to try and use some photos of his gear and his soviet warfare uniform for the skin. There are some attmpts out there but following the shots below you can see that is is difficult to create a GOOD skin that is an accurate account of Vassili Zaitsev. Instead of making one with his uniform or coat I am gonna make on that resembles this and make a true like face of Vassili on the skin.

yeh, Enemy at the Gates was good but not amazing

Here is a rare look at the modified rifle Vassili and his comrads used. I will be using this for the rifle skin for Vassili Zaitsev.

Yes I need a skin and tiki and shader. You guys can fight all you want but I am putting some effort into making this bot. I have his attributes all planned.

He will be a very precise shot.
He will run when threatened to find another vantage point.
He will wait for the right position
He will know every corner of the map and where to hide along with the other bots.
His health will be very high almost like a boss.
He will escape at ANY means to make sure he finishes his mark.

Sounds great - how far are you with it or r u still waiting for a skin - I wonder if youre making a koenig skin as well you could use with the vasily bot?

Then the bots could shoot each other!

Alright this is what I am doing and I am sure I am gonna get ripped off by someone here but I'm making a TDM small destroyed town with Both sniners injcluding Vassili as the leaders and they have 1000 health. The objective is to find the opposing teams leader i.e. Vassili being one of them for the allies, and kill him. I am making the Vassili bot very deadly and dangerous. He will be a sneaky little bastard. Infact what I have done right now is programmed into a werhmact nco right now and he is indanely hard to beat. I made him feel danger at less then 100 feet so he is off and running at any sign of danger. He repositions at sniper nodes and continues to wait for the right shot.
I do not have a skin yet I am working on programming the bots. I might just end up rpograming him into iron tusk's single player campaign.

This bot sounds great.

I have gotten info pathnodes down and I am working on variations of the leash and notice scales, added with deleting out his "feeling to help a comrad" which makes him a solo man that looks for his shot. he will be set to always player seek, as in never let his gaurd down. I got the "flee and take cover" thing down I'm making him deadly with a rifle and long range sight. If anyone had any suggestions or ideas about Vassili tactics please post them.

I need an skb animation, skb., a shader, tiki, and the targas. I have the programing right.

Oh... and the scope is cool. Can't do too much with that without affecting peoples games. Looks like the stock axis one anyway which is cool.

I didnt know if you were going to use the movie Vassili or the real Vassili, but here they are anyways.

I also have a major konig scope (almost as good as Vassili's). I will post it up later.

Not even close. Vassili Zaitsev was almost twice his size, and was a barrel chested man that looked like some kinda boxer. I'll link some pics of him here sometime so you can get a look at what I am talking about.

I've decided to make the skin with his tan long coat on from the movie. I'll do a complet face wrap of vassilis face although I must texture the skin tone with an alpha channel it will still look like the real Vassili. OOoo creepy. eek:
I like the the other scope too BTW

1000 hit points seems harsh, and might lead to people getting fed up with trying to kill an invincible ghost ..... 200-300 would be better, especially with all his other attributes.

As for snipers, there were a couple of Soviet female ones, who (from their kill scores) offed entire German companies on their own

Im sure Simo is a great rifleman, but you cant tell me that the only thing I know about Vassili is what is in the movie, because I have Enemy at the Gates (the book), which is not a novel about the movie. Its is a history book all about the battle for Stalingrad. It has no pictures of Jude Law or Ed Harris, or any other actor from the movie. It was written in the early 80's. The movie was actually based on the book.
