That doesnt matter most of the time.
Some games are just incompatible with some graphics cards.
I cant remember the reason for that glitch though...

TonyMontana 05-27-2004 01:49 PM

americas army is a graphics whore...

geRV 05-27-2004 01:56 PM

If it had been an ati card id've said disable the alternate pixel center option, but since its a geforce im not sure =/

Tony's right. That game is graphically intense and demands a good video card. Why not up-date your card in anticipation for HL2 and DOOM 3? You'll then be able to play A.A. without any problems.

cameltoe 05-27-2004 06:19 PM

well this isnt the only game it does it on, i have the same problem on pain killer

mr.miyagi 05-27-2004 07:00 PM

Usually for graphics glitches you should take a look at your advanced display properties and enable/disable some stuff like for example 'enable fog table emulation', i remember disabling that for Far Cry and GTA3 and it worked fine afterwards.

Soz couldn't solve it for ya,
Good luck

strvs 05-27-2004 07:08 PM

Aye, i had huge glitches like that in mohaa, and switching to the 44.04 drivers seemed to fix it. fuck around, try different drivers.

intrestedviewer 05-27-2004 07:14 PM

That fog emulation is for Direct3D only, doesnt affect OpenGL.

JBird 05-28-2004 12:14 AM

im having similiar problems with my gf4 ti4600. which ran cod fine at maxed graphics. until i did a reformat and fresh xp reinstall last week. now cod is barely playable. the lag is RIDICULOUS. i even lowered all the settings to the lowest at 800x600 rez and it still lagged like shit. its fucked up too cuz just last week i had been playin the game maxed out. stupid:

perhaps i will try rolling back the nvidia drivers like strvs said.

cameltoe 05-28-2004 12:35 AM

where can i find the older drivers

rolleyes:

cameltoe 05-29-2004 06:22 AM

could you tell me what settings you have it on

Johnj 05-29-2004 07:18 AM

I used to have a Mx-400 card and thought it was fine, then I upgraded to the Fx-5200 card. I never looked back. I upgraded all three of my game computers to 5200's.

JBird 05-29-2004 05:54 PM

sigh. im still having mega problems with graphical/fps lag. tried a bunch of different drivers, still acting gay. still dont understand why my system is doing this because i could play all the games i own on max graphics before this format/reinstall xp

a64 3200+ cpu
1gb corsair xms ddr 400
80 gig wd hd
gf4 ti 4600

makes zero sense to me. like i said earlier i can barely play single player cod (and multi) on the lowest settings at 800 x 600. super super super super super gay. im nearing the "aw fuck it" point , id rather just quit gaming annoy:

intrestedviewer 05-29-2004 06:13 PM

You didnt install drivers over old drivers did you? Also maybe you have some kind of built in graphics from your motherboard that is currently on? If you do check your BIOS.

cameltoe 05-29-2004 07:25 PM

im having the same problem jbird, everything was working fine til i put xp pro on here. im nearing the aw fuck it point too

JBird 05-29-2004 10:56 PM

ooo interestedviewer might be on to somethin there. its a long shot, but its not to be overlooked. be back in 5 minutes oOo:

JBird 05-29-2004 11:03 PM

meh, its agp 4x...i dont have onboard vid on my mobo anyway heh. i got the asus k8v deluxe. i think i will try sticking my thumb up my ass, see where that gets me annoy:

cameltoe 05-30-2004 01:39 AM

if its not too much trouble format again and see what happends

intrestedviewer 05-30-2004 02:04 AM

I had a problem not too long ago kinda like yours, I reinstalled windows using the repair method. Made everything lag after it. It was fixed when i erased the harddrive and installed windows all over again 100%. If you did a repair maybe thats what caused it.

interesting....i didnt do a repair install, however, i do remember that the formatting went really fast, like under a minute, when it usually takes like 15-20 mins to format a hd. i believe it already detected that i was using the ntfs file system so it could do a fast format. perhaps i will do a clean-clean reformat/install . i will get back to ya

Robman 05-31-2004 01:16 PM

Cameltoe...If you havn't fixed your glitch yet...I do believe that it sounds like you just dloaded drivers that don't work right. It happens...I have A GF3 and I can jam all the way on all vid settings. If you havn't found a chioce of drivers yet,go here... http://www.guru3d.com ...they have a huge selection of drivers for all video cards.New drivers will probably fix your problen, seeing as the fact that it worked fine before!!Just keep changing them till you find the ones that work.I would start with the newest and work down.No need to use real old and maybe outdated drivers.
