Dark Cloud

Ive been down lately....

my family has a serious history of depression, and ive seen it fuck over many peoples lives and this really scares me.

i hope its just seasonal, but i seem to have a dark cloud over me lately and i cant shake it, i do the best i can to be normal, but all i can think about is breaking down into tears and dying... and i dont know why

Ive been a total dick to all my friends, who coincidentally are having serious problems right now, and i dont know

im not seriously considering suicide or anything, but this crap has just been floating in the back of my head, ruining everything for me

wtf should i do? (medication might be an option, but i dont want to if i dont have to)

anyone have any good ways to deal with stress or seasonal/temporary depression?

all ive found is alcohol and that really hasnt helped much.... its only temporary.. and seems to make things worse

all ive really found is spending time with people i love, sitting around a fire (i love fires for some reason) or listening to music.....

I know exactly how you feel man, I sometimes go through the exact same feelings you described.
It hasn't hit me in a while, but that's because I've kept my mind busy with other shit.

My dad used to get it when he was younger too, and he told me he had it from about ages 18 - 25, and that it came and went over those years.

The best thing I can tell you to do is, not to drink liquor that does make it worse, and to keep your mind busy.

It'll be over soon man - I had it for like 3 months straight at one point, but it seems to have gone for good.

Talk to people that will understand is another good thing to do.

fujimi7su 10-26-2004 11:47 PM

thanks guys, ill just keep doin what im doin and hope it gets better

i just hope i dont end up like most of my family... my grandpa spent the first 60 years of his life miserable and wanting to die... then when he finally felt better cancer killed him

most of my uncles are either dead or so far gone that i cant stand to see them...... my dad was lucky enough to get away from that as a child and hes turned his life around, he had a miserable childhood and was basically homeless from about 10-25 yo..... and now hes got a house in the burbs and a "normal" life... so i guess hell understand if i talk to him

fujimi7su 10-26-2004 11:47 PM

PS

i love you guys

1. i cant vote

ninty 10-27-2004 12:18 AM

Oh, I can't help you then. Sorry. Hope you feel better though.

If you have a gf then spend lots of time with her. Yeah, you just gotta keep your mind busy, man, put in those extra hours at work. Listen to some music, watch dvds, and go jogging or driving around after school or whatnot. Spending time on gf1 will make recovery 3425w34% faster, though.

1080jibber 10-27-2004 05:03 AM

go to your doctor and tell them how you feel, and they will give you pills so you dont feel like shit.

and everything will be smooth sailing after that happy:

a) Like Tripper said, avoid alcohol like the plague! It's a depressant and will make you feel worse in the long run.

b) Get your hands on some St. John's Wort supplements from your local health shop/pharmacy. It's a natural anti-depressant and it seems to work for a lot of people with depression.

c) Get outdoors during the day. Go for walks, ride a bike, do something - anything - that gets you outside and into the daylight. You might have a mild case of S.A.D (Seasonal Affective Disorder) and natural light is the best cure for that.

d) Only get anti-depressant medication from your doc as a last resort. I'm not a big fan of the SSRI anti-d's (Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, etc) annoy:

e) watch lots of porn.

Tripper 10-27-2004 09:21 PM

imwithstupid:

Also, eat well. It might sound silly but your eating habits can dramatically effect how you feel not only physically but mentally too.

Scalping Chief 10-27-2004 09:25 PM

when that happens to me when i just feel shitty i go to my local paintball feild and shoot people, or just punch something just vent all my anger and shit, helps me, throw stuff at stuff basicly.

Proteus 10-27-2004 09:25 PM

Dude, excersise. It helps so much. I was down when my parents said they were divorcing, just a month or so ago. Then I played hockey that night and forgot all about it. Made me feel better.

fujimi7su 10-27-2004 09:26 PM

If I saw him put it in someones mail box i woulnd't have any sympathy for him. What kind of cocksucker deliberatly damages someone elses property who have done nothing to you whatsoever? Just because your problems suck ass doens't mean you have to cause some for other people.

whats your address ?

Blase 10-27-2004 09:39 PM

I agree with pyro, Doing shit to someones house because you hate the kid that lives there is retarted. Your not hurting the kid any, and the only people who care at all about it are the parents who have to take time out of their lives to spend money and clean the shit you ruined.

Musturd Man 10-27-2004 09:49 PM

Milla 10-27-2004 11:56 PM

I had depression for a long time when i was about 17, i lost it but than once i left home for the Marines i was thrown into depression again for a good while. I shook that and now everyonce in awhile maybe for a few days at a time ill get depressed for no reason.

I say just relax, listen to some music and keep yourself busy. Thats what i always do and it always works. Music saves my life.
