Dark Cloud -
10-26-2004, 11:16 PM
Ive been down lately....
my family has a serious history of depression, and ive seen it fuck over many peoples lives and this really scares me.
i hope its just seasonal, but i seem to have a dark cloud over me lately and i cant shake it, i do the best i can to be normal, but all i can think about is breaking down into tears and dying... and i dont know why
Ive been a total dick to all my friends, who coincidentally are having serious problems right now, and i dont know
im not seriously considering suicide or anything, but this crap has just been floating in the back of my head, ruining everything for me
wtf should i do? (medication might be an option, but i dont want to if i dont have to)
anyone have any good ways to deal with stress or seasonal/temporary depression?
all ive found is alcohol and that really hasnt helped much.... its only temporary.. and seems to make things worse
all ive really found is spending time with people i love, sitting around a fire (i love fires for some reason) or listening to music.....

I know exactly how you feel man, I sometimes go through the exact same feelings you described.
It hasn't hit me in a while, but that's because I've kept my mind busy with other shit.
My dad used to get it when he was younger too, and he told me he had it from about ages 18 - 25, and that it came and went over those years.
The best thing I can tell you to do is, not to drink liquor that does make it worse, and to keep your mind busy.
It'll be over soon man - I had it for like 3 months straight at one point, but it seems to have gone for good.
Talk to people that will understand is another good thing to do.

thanks guys, ill just keep doin what im doin and hope it gets better
i just hope i dont end up like most of my family... my grandpa spent the first 60 years of his life miserable and wanting to die... then when he finally felt better cancer killed him
most of my uncles are either dead or so far gone that i cant stand to see them...... my dad was lucky enough to get away from that as a child and hes turned his life around, he had a miserable childhood and was basically homeless from about 10-25 yo..... and now hes got a house in the burbs and a "normal" life... so i guess hell understand if i talk to him

If you have a gf then spend lots of time with her. Yeah, you just gotta keep your mind busy, man, put in those extra hours at work. Listen to some music, watch dvds, and go jogging or driving around after school or whatnot. Spending time on gf1 will make recovery 3425w34% faster, though.

go to your doctor and tell them how you feel, and they will give you pills so you dont feel like shit.
and everything will be smooth sailing after that happy:
