Rome Total War > All
I don't know what it is about this game, I have never been addicted to a game ,like I am to this one. Multiplayer + Single Player give tons and tons of time worth of play, Its always new, feels realistic in the sense of how the combat goes about. This game needs more attention/fans. It deserves it rock: rock:

i bet i could own you.
|
It is indeed a good game.
|
ayah its awesome. but i just stopped playing it one day after playing for about a week straight. kind of got repetitive. i never finished my campaign. i got too big and couldn't control all my provinces. they all went into revolt and i decided to start over. on my second game i only got 20 or so years in.

I have conqured / beaten the campeign as the Julii, Brutii & Britania. Doing a Egypt & Carthage one now. Carthage is hard as fucking hell, your only hope is to abandon sicily, reinforce Thapus, then take numidia fast. With Egypt its all about building alliances, building up your wealth & hireing mercenarys to do your dirty work. Its a really in depth game, hard as hell to play & micro manage your territories. (might i suggust) ninty turning on the auto manage option, assing governers to all your places and let them settle it.

You should try Hearts of Iron or Victoria... or maybe any other Paradox game. |
I really liked Rise of Nations. I loved nuking the shit out of the other side.
|
it was a great game, but i just didnt like it all that much, too much strategy going into the fighting, not enough into the planning/production (as with other RTS games) its all a preference thing
|
i cant stand rts', but i guess if you like strategy and insane realism its a good game
|
Love the game.
I played medieval total war quite a lot. Usually won by diplomacy and agents in medieval. |
i thought it sukd
|
i enjoyed it when i played it. I still prefer blizzard RTS games.
|
I'm sure most of you could own me on any FPS.
But RTS... you're in my domain here kiddo. Actually, I would be less effective in the Total War series, where it's not a resource gathering / building contest; But thou shall get your ass handed back to you in a plastic bag o' spankage if you play me. So ugh, care to get a game going sometime guys? All my friends & colleagues are tired of ganging up against me and still get their asses spank: spank: spank: hellfire: |
I could never get it to play, It would never let me past the menu so I just took it back.

sick mod ferich. we gotta fight one out sometime.[/quote:52dc2] http://www.twcenter.net/forums/index.php?showforum=45 Once you get the hang of editing the descr_model_battle, adding new skins, models, etc is pretty easy. There's a few tutorials on there I believe; lots and lots of mods too. Remember to back up your files. Because as of the latest patch, mods don't work in MP. oOo: |
Ya, ii read over the read me & fact before i tired it out, backed up all my stuff, I plan on using it on my next campeign after i conquer with carthage & Egpyt.

Yeah make sure you delete the Mapheights, etc in the data/world/campaign/sons of mars folder I believe it is? Says in the readme so I'm sure you've done it. Well maybe that was only for RTR 2.2, so it doesn't matter. But if the new Campaign you try doesn't load pm me. |
i dled the 3.1 full install & patched it with 3.2.
|
Damn I've been waiting for a year to play this game but I need to get a new PC first. annoy:

THE G-MAN |
Sorry to bring back this topic, but I have a question.
What do sap points do? You can build them when your besiegeing a settlement, but I don't know what they do or how they work. |
you dig under the wall/ go threw them like a mine etc. then your troops can poor into the breach, either that or the make a path over where the wall has been destroyed. aka makes a bridge over the rubble type thing, one of the 2, i never use them in seiges, to time cunsuming and of course the defenders whore it in fire arrows or the attack it with cavalry.
