Gas Pricessss

Have gone up where I live... to $3.45 - fuckin insane. It's more than likely to go up even more.

sucks to be you

Sgt>Stackem 04-23-2006 07:37 AM

your in Commiefornia though, the blend you get is different than the rest of the country. The smog in your state makes for different guidelines for the gas so it is more. $2.91 here

Jin-Roh 04-23-2006 07:48 AM

i was never aware of that. but does it really make that much of a difference, compared to income + gas prices, and so on. eek:

Vance 04-23-2006 10:24 AM

WidowMaker555 04-23-2006 10:30 AM

"stop driving"

... how the fuk can this be the answer to high gas prices. what, am i suppose to just ride a bicycle 40 miles round trip everyday ?

its horse shit.

: for those who use pub trans ... are the gas prices affecting the ticket prices ?

Machette 04-23-2006 10:45 AM

From what I've read in the papers, yes, gas prices are affecting public transportation..in Canada.

there are studies that say if americans cut down on driving by just 3%, the middle eastern oil companies would be tremendously affected...lowering prices considerably would by their only option.

yeah i ride the bus to school, and fares have gone up.

Judas 04-23-2006 11:04 AM

it might be an option for some people. if you stop driving you are either going to take pub trans ( which is still using the gas ) or, fuk, i dunno what ... its not like you can ride a horse where you need to go. bicycling is the only other option, i guess. How many people have one at hand or can honestly ride the fuking thing the distance they need to travel everyday. id say probably much less than 3%. if you live in the city chances are you arent driving anyway and if you live outside the city your destination is probably 20 miles or more. people arent going to stop driving, not because they dont want to, but because they cant.

Coleman 04-23-2006 11:10 AM

I think they are targeting recreational driving. If you go to your favorite ice-cream joint every monday, for example, you can choose to go buy a thing of ice-cream at the grocery store and eat it at home instead of traveling every time to go get ice-cream.

Hell, there are alot of younger kids that just drive for fun. People from my generation just like to go out at night and drive. So if we took that out of our system, it would help considerably.

Arkan 04-23-2006 11:31 AM

$3.19 here in NY for the cheap shit.

Sergeant_Scrotum 04-23-2006 12:09 PM

We can't afford to drive around anymore. Now we go to someones house or go park in a parking lot and hang out.

gtboys34 04-23-2006 12:14 PM

well i can kiss that titan good bye loney:

CoMaToSe 04-23-2006 12:22 PM

people should play more video games.

And it\ll be 5.00 a gallon by next august annoy:

Art Attack 04-23-2006 12:23 PM

The gas price has been sitting just under a dollar for a bit here, and in the past two months bus fares have gone up twice, i'm paying like 56$ for a monthly bus pass mad:

STFU

Miscguy 04-23-2006 12:37 PM

My car runs on premium, so the price hikes are hitting me earlier and harder for this area. Regular is about 2.80+, premium which i need, is right around 3.00+. I filled up yesterday for 3.12, but ive seen the price as high as 3.50.

Double U 04-23-2006 01:07 PM

1.20 a litre here....

Machette 04-23-2006 01:21 PM

Wish they built cities differently..put everything in walking distance. Only need to drive when you need to get to a further city. I remember reading a theory about this two years ago..forgot it though.

that would be physically and quantumly impossible. No "new layout" would put everything in say, New York, in walking distance. Unless we built a system of wormholes in every city. Thats retarded. oOo:

It was based on cities that were built in the past. The only general reason our cities are more spread out is because of the population. Certain things that people flock to could be built closer, such as a mall. The mall here is surrounded by other companies that could be placed at certain locations in a city. Certain cities are very spread out even with a small population. It was a good argument but like I said I forgot most of the key arguments so I unfortunately can not further explain. And the cities that were layed out in his theory were not based on large scale, highly populated cities like new york. So shut the fuck up.

Ah, I see.Had you said something comprehensible like "changed the way cities were layed out/distributed" I may have understood. But you said "Built", which suggests changing the cities physically. But its still not going to help, it just increaes the chances that things you need are still going to be in the next city or you have friends in another city, increasing the amount you must drive. Trust me, I live in a system like that, all smaller separate cities, and we have to drive more and farther more often.

PS, Im pissed at short, not you biggrin:

Unknown_Sniper 04-23-2006 03:19 PM

prices are right around $2.90/gal. here. IVe heard they might be up to about $4 by mid summer which is fine with me cause I dont drive during the summer. I wouldnt be surprised if I had to fill my tank only 3 times.

Doesn't matter, that's not the fucking point. Who cares, if people want to "splurge" on themselves and drive down to the ice-cream shop every monday and get an ice cream, conserving gas for that 5 minute ride shouldn't even be in their mind. Point is, Exxon Mobil made 700 Billion dollars last year.

People, especially North Americans, need gas. It's a necessity to get to work, or whereever the fuck they're going. The douchebags who are getting disgustingly rich off of the middle man's dollar should be put to death.

RaNgeR 04-23-2006 03:36 PM

We complain too much, I was in spain last year and I saw gas prices at 5-6 euros.

SoLiDUS 04-23-2006 04:33 PM

It's 1.13$ here for one litre of regular...

I won't be driving around as much if I can help it. Easy for me though, because I'm a fucking computer geek. :)

Milla 04-23-2006 06:36 PM

2.89 here atm.

3.09 for premium. And i have a feeling in a day or two it will be up another 5-10 cents.

Fuck speaking of this i need to go get gas right now. God damn it! cry:

Bucknub 04-23-2006 07:02 PM

108.0 per litre

9mm BeRetTa 04-23-2006 07:07 PM
