your in Commiefornia though, the blend you get is different than the rest of the country. The smog in your state makes for different guidelines for the gas so it is more. $2.91 here

From what I've read in the papers, yes, gas prices are affecting public transportation..in Canada.

there are studies that say if americans cut down on driving by just 3%, the middle eastern oil companies would be tremendously affected...lowering prices considerably would by their only option.

it might be an option for some people. if you stop driving you are either going to take pub trans ( which is still using the gas ) or, fuk, i dunno what ... its not like you can ride a horse where you need to go. bicycling is the only other option, i guess. How many people have one at hand or can honestly ride the fuking thing the distance they need to travel everyday. id say probably much less than 3%. if you live in the city chances are you arent driving anyway and if you live outside the city your destination is probably 20 miles or more. people arent going to stop driving, not because they dont want to, but because they cant.

I think they are targeting recreational driving. If you go to your favorite ice-cream joint every monday, for example, you can choose to go buy a thing of ice-cream at the grocery store and eat it at home instead of traveling every time to go get ice-cream.
Hell, there are alot of younger kids that just drive for fun. People from my generation just like to go out at night and drive. So if we took that out of our system, it would help considerably.

We can't afford to drive around anymore. Now we go to someones house or go park in a parking lot and hang out.
