Mr.Buttocks 08-21-2006 03:19 PM

I think the correct answer is 'HAVE FUN'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Zoner 08-21-2006 03:29 PM

Man, there's so much I can say.

First off, you will probably be hazed by the seniors in the dorm. My advice: GO ALONG WITH IT! If you don't be a good sport they will turn on you and make you do worse shit. If you're cool, they'll go easier on you.

Take these essential items (if permissable by your dorm):
- Microwave
- Coffee maker
- Extra set of sheets
- Bathrobe and flip-flops (or some sort of waterproof footwear for the shower)
- An oscillating fan
- A small television and DVD player
- Computer and lotsa of extra CD-R/DVD-R
- A lighter, even if you don't smoke
- A small bar fridge
- Posters and shit to decorate your room
- A padlock/combination lock
- A string/cord/carabiner to attach your keys to. I always had mine on a shoelace around my neck. Otherwise, you WILL lock yourself out.
- Condoms (duh)
- A foam sleeve to fit a beer bottle/can

I'll probably think of more.

Nyck 08-21-2006 03:32 PM

HEY KID! NICE SHOELACE

Zoner 08-21-2006 03:34 PM

It WAS a nice shoelace, now that I think of it. It had MOLSON CANADIAN written all over it. rock:

NexusRevived 08-21-2006 05:02 PM

you should lube up your anus beforehand so its not so rough

good luck!

WTF? I don't know anybody who stays in a dorm past their freshman year.

I stayed in a tiny ass dorm room my fresh. year. My roommate was cool, and we're good friends to this day, so I got lucky there. There were a few wigger faggots on my hall, but most of them got kicked out before the year was over for doing stupid shit. Some guy killed himself on my floor too. leet. oOo:

Arkan 08-21-2006 05:33 PM

Just sleep on your back with one eye open.

Unknown_Sniper 08-21-2006 05:56 PM

Im staying in the dorms until I graduate. I love my room. Anyways. Bring a comfy chair, tv, computer, and alcohol. no need for a sheets the floor is just as comfortable as your bed when you are drunk.

Madmartagen 08-21-2006 06:20 PM

dorms are gay, youre better off getting a room or apartment off campus. are you working?

RaNgeR 08-21-2006 06:50 PM

Im moving into my dorm at SMC in 2 fucking days! I think Im pretty much set..Im going to pick up a tv tomorrow though. I dont know what size to get though? I dont want anyone stealing it, lol.

Coleman 08-21-2006 07:16 PM

no one is going to steal your TV. 1. It's kinda hard to hide a stolen TV. 2. Lock your door. 3. Everyone pretty much has a tv already.

anti 08-21-2006 07:18 PM

zoner had a good list
bring some plates and utencils
bring some stick on hooks for hanging your shit on
the usual shit like towels, face cloth, other bathroom shit
a pot
some storage shit to keep stuff
a bag for laundry, hampers suck
small cooking items like a pocket sandwhich maker, kettle, etc.
extension cords
duct tape
playgirl

Coleman 08-21-2006 07:33 PM

pocket knife
stapler
a rug if you don't already have one provided
paper towels
Fabreeze for when you and your roommate fart
a hand vac to clean up your shit

The guy who lived next to us used to keep his door wide open even when he left to go somewhere. One day we went in there and opend up every liquor cabinet he had, and then the fucking fire alarm went off 1 minute later. We left his shit wide open for the firefighters to look at. I'm glad he didn't get fined.

Ive done the apartment thing. you just dont get the college experience living off campus i take it.
Unfortunatly yes i will be working throughout the semester. fucking car insurance bills

Zoner 08-22-2006 09:26 AM

I stayed in residence for three years in university and it was fucking awesome. The gayness was found in the apartments of dudes with no friends, who'd go home after class and watch Wheel of Fortune.

Living on campus is fucking great.

madmartagen has obviously never lived on the dorms

Arch 08-22-2006 11:25 AM

wish i would've lived in a dorm, but i'm gonna miss out because my technical college is so close to where i live loney:

jujumantb 08-22-2006 12:36 PM

Living in the dorms or not totally depends on the school. Here in Madison, people live in dorms their freshman year, then its pretty much only the losers who have no friends who stay for sophomore year and beyond. Living "off campus" here is actually more like living right next to campus, I literally walk one block and I'm there. I dont know why you'd want to live in the dorms where its easy to get caugh drinking and there is gay ass noise rules and quiet times at night... not to mention being forced to have a roommate in most dorms which sucks for MANY more reasons.

Simo Häyhä 08-22-2006 12:56 PM

i have a single..

I dunno what kind of nazi regime dorms you're used to but they must be a whole helluvalot different than the one I lived in. Drinking was encouraged and expected.

My first two nights in residence, my roommate and I drank 48 beers between us.

Well in madison, no alcohol is allowed in the dorms. Most RAs dont care as long as you are atleast trying to not make it obvious, but the cops would walk through every few weekend nights and give tickets. Every other school I've partied in the dorms at has been the same way too.

Jeezus, I can see why you wouldn't want to live there.

I was an RA for the last 2 years and I drank every chance I got. Only rule was no glass in the public areas of the house. You could have all the plastic cups and cans you wanted, though.
