So I'm running by the Alamo this morning and ... doh!

This morning I went for my morning run in downtown San Antonio. I always feel a kind of religious reverance when I see the Alamo, and when you're there just before daybreak, knowing that was the time of the final attack, the feeling is even stronger. I took a couple of wrong turns in the dark and when I got back to the hotel I could tell by the time on my watch that I had not run as far as I had wanted. So, I turn around and head back towards the Alamo. I made another loop around the compound and as I'm running down the final side before heading back I glance over and see bullet holes in the wall. So what would have been a glance becomes a stare. That's when Santa Ana almost claimed another victim. I ran right into a sign post! Bam! doh! [/quickly looks around to see if anybody was watching ... sees a bunch of Mexicans laughing ... shakes head and laughs along with them] Luckily I saw the post out of the corner of my eye just before impact and was able to raise my arm. But I still hit it with a full body blow. My forearm took most of it. Hurt like heck. And luckily I have enough flabby belly left hanging over my beltline so that it was able to take the rest of the impact thus saving the family jewels from a painful start to the day.

I was in San Antonio on business. Poor wording on my part. Sorry for the confusion. Of course, I have an excuse, I wrote that shortly after banging into a pole! LOL
